In honor of the "nicest car you've ever driven" thread, I thought we should also have a "crappiest car you've ever driven" thread.

That would be a tough one for me...
I'm thinking it would have to be my old "70 something" Super Beetle. I bought it when I was in high school for like $100 and never could get it to start reliably. Once it started, it would run great, but half the time you needed to push start it. We ended up ripping all the fenders off and beating on it in the fields and woods for a summer until it finally blew up.
I let it sit in the woods to die a peaceful death, but my friends drug it out a month or so later and bought another engine for it. They beat on it for about another month until that one blew.
We let it sit for about 2 years after that, then finally called the junkyard to come get it.

I don't I've ever had more fun for $100 in my life!
...except that one time... at band camp...

1975 Olds Delta 88 Royale convertible...

Some of you might remember pictures I've posted a while back. It was the donor for my top and top frame on the Centurion.

It wasn't even Demo derby worthy.

For me ... a toss up between a 1974 Ford Maverick in olive green and a 1993 Saturn SL.

Both were just crap. Plain and simple

Our '92 ford Tempo...hands down. It's very dependable, but the only good thing I can say about it.

It has automatic seatbelts that strangle you if you open the door to look out while reversing. I just can't get comfortable in that car.....even though it has 6 way power seats....there's no room in it for anything unless you want to put it on the back seat.......the button for the fuel door (which is always stuck shut) is next to the trunk release button.......guess which one I press by accident each time I fill it up.

The space on the dash pad in front of the passenger seat is flat and slanted just a little back, no matter what you put there ends up on the passengers lap......especially when cornering either direction..... no cupholders..........oil filter is nearly impossible to remove without spilling oil all over the place........absolutely no space under the hood either. I HATE THAT CAR!!!:af:

    BuickLeSabre1960 Hot Dogs Anyone?

Would be between my 1978 Mercury Monarch or a 1989 honda accord. The Monarch was bad because it sat for 7 years before I drove it. But I'm working on making it my daily driver (302 with a turbo=470 h.p.@ the rear wheels)

My teacher's '84 Dodge 3/4 Ton, 318 4spd. We used this truck to tow our stock car last summer, and it was a scary ride. The cab would move and flex over the smallest bumps, the shifter would come out of the floor going into 3rd sometimes, the ballast resistor kept blowing, and rust... so much rust. I'm glad he took it off the road last year, it was a time bomb.

    Hi guys,
Kinda new here, but had to throw my junk in.

My ex wife bought a 69 bug that just made me want to puke.

We first got it,and the brakes were horrible.I think I fixed them, and soon after did a tune up.Ran worse than before I tuned it up.

Had to have the engine rebuilt on it twice in just a few years.

My foot kept getting caught between the accelerator and brake. (size 12dd feet)

I don't know how many times I had to speed shift it to get it home due to the shift cable snapping.

Would jam my thumb into the dash every time I wanted the window down or up.

I have nightmares just thinking about Bugs whenever someone recalls their fond memories of Hitlers revenge.

When my wife and I got married, she had a 1982 Mercury LN7....hands done the biggest turd in all ways I ever had to drive except one thing....it had the nicest seats in it, they were great to set in while you was on the side of the road broke down

  10. 84 Fiero. Actually it wasn't that bad of a car for zipping around town, but it always had oil leaks that would mysteriously appear, then just as mysteriously disappear. 4spd was nice, but it was a 4cyl, not the much better V6 model. Terrible winter car, though a good starter.

Mid-80's Audi 4000(?) I think. Diesel. Ran great until cooler fall temps, then didn't like to start in the morning. Pawned it off in trade for the Fiero before winter set in...

Late 60's Dart 4dr. Need I say more?

The first car i actually owned , 1981 plymouth horizon tc3
The tc3 was a less common sport edition of the ugly square horizon or the omni. First time i started it the fuel filter hose sprayed a nice jet right into the distributor which made for a nice show. Couldnt take the car over 40 or it would shake your teeth out, and the radio head unit wiring caught on fire on a few occasions....well that was my fault.....but i was 14

Then i moved to a 1984 Audi 4000, but not a diesel.....actually cant say anything bad about this particular car at the moment

My buick isn't exactly in the best shape of its existence:( , but it aint a peice of junk like my grandma's '93 escort, 1)it had barely enough room for 4 kids in the whole car, 2)it was slower than a john deer tractor, 3) when the wind was blowing hard, it would drift and fly with the wind, 4)the seat-belts are what joe said, they will strangle you, and i could keep on complaining, jeez.

It seems like a-lot of us have problems with fords:laugh:

I had a 78 Olds Cutlass winter beater about 12 years ago. I bought it for $200 drove it through the winter and sold it for $500. :)
One of that cars little problems was it had a tendency for the choke to occasionally stick closed at the worst possible time. Like on the expressway during rush hour. It would blast black smoke out the tail pipe and get like 2 miles to a gallon when in choke shut mode. :) It's the only car I ever ran out of gas in because of that. hehe

    A 93 ford Bronco
My Son calls me at work today and asks me to meet him at the DMV so I can sign over the title to the truck I bought him a year ago for his 16th Birthday so he could trade it for the Bronco. Now I don't have anything against Ford Trucks as I have a 2002 F-250 Powerstroke Crew myself but this thing was a death trap. It looked great from 20 feet (arizona car and no rust, great body and paint) So me my son and this kid and his dad are there ready to seal the deal. So I take the thing for a drive and wow what a POS...ok until you hit 50 then all HECK breaks loose and I feel like the front end is going to come out of it. Seat covers for fun? NOPE the seat are fried, headliner falls on me the power windows don't work. The Air blows cool but not cold. I get back to the DMV and look my kid in the eyes and say "you drove this?" yes dad...Drive it again son...this time take it up to 60 and let me know what you think?... He comes back says "thanks dad" and we go home. I guess he'll keep his Toyota..Slow, but still something I'd drive to work and feel safe in...

Just remembered a better one, about 20 years ago a girlfriend called me and asks me to come see her new car. So I go over and she's got this brown Duster..about a 70 or 71 in her driveway. I can tell the bottom couple of inches are rusted through so I walk up to take a look around and theres so much rust the body looks like it's floating off the frame suspended in air... I went to open the hood and I could see the ground looking down through the top of the fenders. So I leave the hood alone as I don't want to break it off...She says it drives fine so I start it up and take off down the street, I think I'm hearing a lot of road noise so I start poking at the carpet, theres soft spots...not just soft I lift up the floor matts and I can see the street. I baby it back to her drive way and thank god the brakes worked so I didn't hit anything. She had paid $700 dollars for this....POS!!!!!!!!!

It's true, there's a sucker born every day, and I've met half of them!

    Oldsmobile Silouette...minivan bout a 89 or so

arrgh.....luckily in the year I drove it, I never even so much as washed that glass shuttle of death. Never checked/changed the oil or fluids, when the breaks started sqeaking I sprayed wd40 right into the wheels and they'd shut up for a couple days..lol, what's a little more smog here in L.A.

Finally had the bone collector come out and give me 100 bux for that pos. I wanted to take it to the desert for a proper elimination..:blast: :blast: :beer

But, my wife wanted the 100 to buy more junk at Target.

Found a pic of one on ebay

    Ergot Fast with cash.

    `78 volkswagon scirroco.

Half the time it wouldn't start and it burned the points out every 3000 miles. Got so mad at it after making me late for work for the umpteenth time that I kicked the door in about 6 inches.

Temper of youth issues. ( was 17 ) Least it was cheap.
