yea i kinda figured it`d be about 2",i just wasnt sure if it might`ve been 1 7/8 but thats too small. Thanks
George, I have the original pipes for mine, I can measure them if you want me to. Seems to me the manifold to muffler pipes are bigger than 2", but I haven't looked at them for some time. Mark
Mark i would appreciate it very much if you can measure the sizes for me,i just picked up a `65 GS 401 4-speed with original 56,000 miles from Utah. Thanks
George, Send me some pics, I'd love to see it! I'll measure the pipes when I get home and check back with you. Mark
it needs alittle work, there is some bubbling under the vinyl on top by the front winshield and alittle in the rear the rest is solid according to the owner i bought it off,i havent gotten her yet she is waiting to get picked up by shipping co.
Nice car, especially the 401/4-speed combo. Should be a lot of fun and if it as described, a pretty simple fix-up. I would also think the stock exhaust is 2 inch diam.
since the tach is missing and i have a spare one but its getting re-done at Instrument services in IL.,does anyone have a spare trishield with the chrome cup i can buy so i can put there till the tach comes in?
George, Nice, nice car, the chrome accessory package (valve covers & air cleaner) is pretty rare. Great color combo too. What are the plans for it? Mark
Nice find! Sweet find George now remember me when you want to move it in about 6 months I'm just down the pike from ya:TU: That is a very early production car which is evident by the front grills different style Gran Sport emblem.
Mark,i`m either going to leave it alone for now and drive it around as is or fix it and give it a paint job,i might just drive it for now maybe throw on a set of wheels. Doug,i`ll keep u in mind, and as for the grille emblem i wondered why it was different. Thanks
George, The early production cars had the small rectangular grill emblem. It changed over to the one seen on most 65s. Whats the build date? Mark
George, OD on the OEM headpipes is 2 1/4". I think the tailpipes are 2" (mine were replaced). Hope that helps! Mark
