Snake, if your heads come back pretty good you might be leaveing some TQ on the table with the 469 lift. If they are still gaining cfm at .520 or .550 you might wanna look into a custom cam. Just a thought

When I purchased the car The engine and tranny were rebuilt already, according to the seller, he could not produce receipts so instead of buying it at 8500 I negotiated the Riviera for 5000. After going thru the heads and seeing the engine it looked rebuilt. He even installed the flywheel wrong leaving it with a nasty rumble at 3000 rpm. The piston had .30 stamped on them, the cylinder boars had nice crosshatch marks on them. When we pulled the engine and tranny and sent the tranny out the mechanic said this is a fresh build, so I had him add a trans go shift kit and new seal, filter and electric plug on the switch pitch. I could see new fresh pipe dope on the Back of the block on the tapped plugs, and new freeze plugs. I'm just going to clean up the block with taking down the castings inside the valley. Clean up the face of the pistons ( not that bad with carbon build up) and paint the block and heads with Por-15 engine enamel buick red. I painted the tranny with RustOlium brush on hammer finish grey.

the reason i was asking about comp if you dont use the thin steel head gasket (hard to find big bucks) and use the thick head gasket it will drop your ratio down to about 9.30-9.40. if you want it back up to 9.70-9.80 comp ratio, now is the time to mill the heads.

Had them resurfaced, and I'm using BEST vintage gasket set, they are the thick one but the old gasket were the thin steel ones. Guess I could still get them.
