Sorry to say .... but mine was a '78 Buick LeSabre. The 350-4V in that car was THE biggest turd on the planet. I was commuting 150 miles a day in that thing at the time, and I SWEAR I was going to the auto parts store every other day to get something to repair on the stupid thing. I ended up keeping Lectra-Motive cleaner and (2) HEI distributor modules in the glove box at all times. I don't know how many times that thing left me hanging in some parking lot somewhere for a no-start because of the stupid distributor. I took a staple gun to the felt headliner so it didn't flop in my face. God I hated that car ......... :af: I even had a '79 Chevette that I didn't mind as much as the LeSabre. :puzzled: Ranking right up there though is my current '86 Dodge plow truck. That stupid thing has had so many electrical "retrofits", that I'm about to fill the dash with toilet paper and watch the thing burn to the ground .............

Since I only had Buicks, I would say the worst of them was my non-supercharged 91 Park Avenue Ultra.

Even with the "Gran Touring" package and new shocks all around, it felt like a boat, My 65 Wildcat feels like a sports car compared to this one!

I blew 3 transmissions, one engine, two starters, one alternator (expensive because of the non-working heated windshield option).
The heated windshield control box went in dust, the 3 used oned I found were in the same condition, new ones retailed 900$, I lived without it!
I had to replace the cheap a/c evaporator, everything in the steering linkage, ball joints etc.
Water leaks from the windshield, backglass, sunroof...
Air leaks from the aluminium rims...

The heater blower motor stopped working, I had to knock on it to make it working. I replaced it twice with new Delco motors.

The engine stopped in curves when the fuel tank was less than half full!

The automatic door locks wouldn't unlock sometimes, never found why!

I had to replace the CD player 4 times, the third time, it was lost in transport with a 38$ CD stuck in it :af:. This thing wouldn't accept copied CD's even when working... The Delco service center wasn't able to find a core, new ones were not available.
I never had so much trouble finding a used part exept maybe for the bumper impact detector for my 75 Electra's air bags!

I finally found a radio with a CD player that didn't work for 200$ :eek2: in a junkyard, It had also been remanufactured by Delco in 1996 but wasn't working again! At least I didn't pay for the radio or the repair, it was guaranteed!

I bought this car with the intention to save on gas and on repairs, I never had a car that was so expensive to maintain!

I sold the car to my father a few months ago, he didn't have problems with it since!

1993 Pontiac Grand Am. Dash rattle never stopped. After three years heater core started leaking in car. Went thru several alternators and batteries. Power windows stopped working. All this before the car was even 5 yrs old. With low mileage.

    Worst car I've had?

Rust: 85 Riviera, got it for free, put a total of 300 dollars (plus gas) into it in 3 years.
Reliability: My Skylark... :( Still the most fun car I own when it runs
Looks: Some argue that my STi is the ugliest car I've ever owned, but I'd say my '85 Riviera on account of the softball sized holes in the fenders.

Had some electrical issues with the Honda I had, but that was the fault of the previous owner, not the car.

    Worst car ever!

A '92 Bonneville SSEi :blast: Only had it for 2 years (shortest time I've owned a particular car).

2 compressors, front end, electrical problems etc........

    Lessons learned:
    1. Never buy a "first year" model
    2. Avoid superchargers

  10. a dodge omni. :blast:
first car i bought to go back and forth to work with
felt like i was riding my you know what along the ground. :moonu:
i think it even hit a few times as well. :spank:
blew the motor in it and could not find another motor to put back in it that was worth the effort. :Dou:

My worst car wasn't a Furd, but a 1986 Olds Toronado.Loved the way it looked!Great handling car, with FE3 suspension.Timing chain went at 80,000.Waterpump soon after.Interior pieces would fall off or come loose.Moonroof wouldn't close one night when it started to rain. The worst electronic nightmare car ever built! Digital dash would light up when it wanted.Bose radio would work for thirty minutes, then leave you without music.Windows would work when they wanted, but never when it was 98 outside and the automatic electronic a/c would all of a sudden not work. This car was black and we live in Florida! The electric mirrors quit working, too. No blown fuses or bad connections.Could not figure this one out.Luckily, the local Buick/Pontiac dealer took it in trade on a late model Bonneville for the wife. And everything worked on the Toronado that particular day!

Hands down, my 1973 Century GS 455 Stage 1 / 4 speed car...I was the second owner and with about 25,000 on it the speedo started squealing on the ride home, a week later it needed a clutch. Two weeks after that debacle, the front main on the T-10 spun in the case (happened 3 times BTW). Finally got a new set of Polyglas GT tires and came out the next morning with 2 flats. Grrrr!!! I put a new Holley on it and that leaked, so I finally got even. Too bad, it was one of 16... ws in TR

    No doubt. 1990 Nissan 4 cylinder 4 speed 4 x 4.
Bought it brand new.....after 5k miles, that POS went straight to the Chevrolet dealer as a trade-in.
It had been to the Nissan dealer so many times for repairs.

Wow! It IS "Old thread revival week!" One of my worst cars was a very sweet looking '66 Mercury Comet Caliente. It was the 3rd car I had ever owned. 289, auto. sweet black bucket seats, console. The only way it would have been remotely fast was if it fell off a cliff. The car was body-jinxed. First the paint (ice blue) came off one of the front fenders when I was washing it. Then it happened shortly after to the other fender. Next I got into a small accident and wrecked the hood, grille and front bumper. Then it got the trunk lid keyed or scraped by a bicycle. Next a chunk of trailer leaf spring came off a semi and damaged the top of the fender. Sold it and the gal who bought it wrapped it around a pole.
My wife's worst vehicle was a '90 4x4 extended cab Ranger. The first issue we had with it not wanting to come out of 4wd and the dealer had it for over two weeks. Then the crappy paint job (cranberry red) wasn't a base/clear and, when you waxed it, you would get a lot of color off it on your rag. It also would water spot if, after washing or a rain, and it didn't get toweled off immediately. It got hit three times, never my wife's fault. The first one messed up the rt.box side and the passenger door. The shop at the dealer I worked for replaced the entire box and we painted the entire truck original color in base/clear, ending the paint issue. Other two were minor accidents. The last straw came when the heads both cracked. After warranty expired, of course. it was so prevalent that Dart Machine made replacements! Sold the P.O.S. shortly after that. Wound up with a '94 Caddy Fleetwood that I took away from some wannabe badass drug dealer who wasn't paying for it. But that's another story. It also was an over-rated pile in my opinion.

Worst was my early 70's Pinto, small and got lousy mileage. Mot fun, 1965 Sylark GS and 1986 Dodge Omni GLH. Really bad was a Ford Wndstar van, piece of junk and 89 T-bird, both had a v-6 that blew head gaskets on a predictable timeline. No more Fords for me, now I drive Korean imports and I am extremely happy with them and their warranties.

I'm not sure which was my worst, but my wife's uncle had a '68 Ford station wagon that had such a soft suspension that it was dangerous. He finally took it to Millis Used Auto Parts (now gone) and insisted on watching as they crushed it. He said that it's handling was so bad that he could in good conscience, never sell it to anyone.

    A 1997 Pontiac Sunfire GT, 5 speed........need I say more?

It actually never became "mine", but it was supposed to be. My parents bought it new while I was in high school and it was going to become my car after I got my license. I had my choice of the Grand Am or the Sunfire GT. I preferred the Grand Prix, but they were not spending that much. Dad tried to convince Mom that I needed a Camaro or Mustang, but she wasn't having that because "It couldn't easily carry 4 people". I chose the Sunfire because it was a 5 speed instead of an auto. Ended up Dad passed away that year in Sept. '98 and instead of getting the car I got to drive his '97 Silverado instead.
