Surprised I missed this the first time around!
    I've got two.
A 1986 Ford f150 Extended Cab, Long Box. Damn thing was harder on gas than the Riviera. Body trim pieces fell of almost as soon as it came off the lot. The Hood release came off in my fingers. Radio hummed at anything over 97.7 on the fm. Paint flecked off the hood. Wouldn't shift out of first when it was cold. I actually miss that truck.

A 1990 Sunbird. Nickname "The widow-maker" I drove it to work one day in a snow storm. No heat, Bad wipers, Rotten exhaust. Of course it had that dashboard that pulled away from the instrument cluster. Radio worked on occasion. Windows didn't work. I vowed that day on the snowstorm that I would never drive that car again...I never did.

Probably not a bad car at birth, but when I bought it for $400 it had been used as a pickup truck for a number of years. Every panel was dented beyond repair. We spray painted band-aids on some of it and "The Ultimate Cruising Vessel" Across the hatch..... it was a babe-magnet!

While in my possession it never had legal brakes and I always had to travel with GALLONS of water because the cooling system leaked like a sieve.

Finally I took it to get inspected at the shop where my older brother worked. He drove it over the lift and started to raise the lift. The car didn't leave the ground as the lift rose crunching through the rusty uni-body. Since I was family he slapped a sticker on it and told me it was legal only long enough for me to find another car.

In ten years I'v had over 40 cars, some great, some sucked!!!!! :blast:
    On the sucked list.......

84 ford mustank, 3.8 auto, hated it with a passion, if it was electric it broke and it never got better than 13mpg

93 nissan truck, four transmissions and a rearend in less than 100 miles  :af:

79 Jaguar XJS, 400 sbc, bought it as a half finished conversion so not sure of everything that was done to the 400, but I know that it was built for circle track racing :3gears: some of the parts I got receipts for were impressive like 13.5 to 1 pistons, crane roller cam, lifters, roller rockers and geardrive :Brow: The car was rusty, beat up, the electrical system was a joke, it had 8 layers of cracking paint, but it was stupid fast :TU: I broke the 160 speedo, it launched so hard it tweeked the body, and it split the rearend housing :ball: Had to sell it for a 6,000 doller loss because I couldnt afford to fix it anymore :Dou: one of the highlights was the $1,300 break job

But the worst of the worst is........

87 nissan sentra 4x4 wagon, for reasons to painfull to speak of 9 years later :spank: :ball: :af: :Dou:

Hi Dave, So you had what we in Sweden call a Saab Shortnose. They came with a longer nose in 65 but still had that 2-stroke engine. Suprisingly they are pretty popular and expensive here.

The absolute worst vehicle I have ever owned with out a dought was the 1975 Ford(Mazda) Courer Pickup truck. History of the vehicle: bought used by my uncle for $200 because he wanted the mud tires that were on the truck sometime in the mid 80s. My father bought the truck(POS) shortly there after. Was given to me and my sister for transportation to and from school. It was so bad my sister refused to be seen in it. I however had no problem driving it.

Discription of the vehicle. It was a originally had a blue cab and a white/rust bed. which eventually morphed into an all black truck. (We attempted to paint it ourselves) it had numerous mosquitoes and other bugs embosted in the paint perserved for posterity.

Problems with the vehicle: The dual wheel cylenders for the front and rear drum brakes needed constant rebuilding and bleeding. THe old way with one person inside pumping and one draining. You never knew when you hit the brakes if you were going to stop, pull right or left or keep on going strait.

Hydaulic clutch: If parked at a particular slope all the fluid would drain and you would have no clutch. I drove for two months like this while waiting for slave valve rebuild kit to be shiped from Japan. start in first and silp shift through the gears.

Floor and body: Good ventilation (so many holes that lots of air came throught) good in summer bad in winter. No heater and no vent fan.

Point Ignition: Pain in the A**. I used to carry an extra set and a dwell meter every where i went.

YOu know the more I think about the more I miss that old POS. Sometimes its the cars you hate the most that you learn the most from.

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

    1976 Fiat 128 3P

1290cc motor, 4 speed manual. I cant begin to describe on how many levels this car Sucked....

Once, after the many times it died on me, I couldn't get it running.I had no voltage to the Coil. I had 3 different Fiat Manuals, but none specifically for this car (because it didn't exist !!). I traced and traced in the wire diagrams for all other models....until.....I saw it !!

The Coil was fused through - Ready ?? through The Brake light Circuit !!

Of course, thses things leaked water like a paper towel, and the windshield leak ran right across the fuse panel. Took out the brake fuse, sandpapered it off.....and it started right up. 3 weeks of screwing around with it. :spank:

Not the kind of car you want to work on in Buffalo Winters - but it was free and all I had was a motorcycle - also not the ideal transportation in Buffalo winters

....that spring I wisened up and got a '69 Sky with 110K on it and thus the Buick Affair began

I've never had a car I didn't like. But I recall one jinxed one. Bought a 77 Z28 brand new. It was freaky fast, or seemed so. White/camel 5.7 4spd, ordered from the dealer by me with everything I wanted on it including all performance options available.

Got stolen twice and wrecked once and recovered both times. I banged it up a couple times. It attracted speeding tickets like flypaper during the hey days of Smokey and the bandit movies. Yes it was jacked up with a CB antenna on the trunk. Sold it after three years. I never had a car in the body shop more than that one.

It really wasn't THAT bad, but it's the worst oout of some really great cars...

'66 Plymouth Valiant: Slant Six, with the Looooooong intake runners. In winter, if it was parked facing north, ether was the only way to get it running...one cylinder at a time until all six were firing. Park it facing south, and it was ok. That cold North wind...

Best/Worst part of it? That great Chrysler starter motor sound: Dee-HEE-HEE-HEE-HEE ...... Dee-HEE-HEE-HEE-HEE-HEE-HEE-HEE-HEE-HEE

    worst car

80 Pontiac GP. Bought it new. Couldn't stop it--took both feet--not enough engine vacuum. Spent more time at dealer than with me. They finally let me order an 81 for basically no cost. It was much better.

The car I currently own but can't drive...

1991 Dodge Stealth ES, 3.0L V6, 5-spd, nice looking car, broke from the second I bought it it seemed, ate up all the money I made since June and now it's sitting halfway in the yard, halfway in the driveway, I will never buy another Shitsubishi. Probably not even a TV because it just won't turn on. Check my car wanted thread :)

    436'd Skylark Sweet Fancy Moses!!!!!

I had an 85 cutlass with the awesome 307!!! I paid 40 bucks for it, and drove it 2 weeks. It had a cracked head. I blew up 2 radiators it was fun. The compu carb never worked right, so I swapped the bone stock carb from the 430 on, this was pre-rebuild days. since the distributor is all electronic advance, after I ditched the carb, it never worked. Being the resourceful young chap that I am I swapped in a points dist. from a 68 cutlass. it actually ran kinda well. it had a bit more pick up, but was still a dog. I did drive it for 30 minutes after the hot light came on. It ahd a few more rattles and ticks after I did that though.. :Do No: :Brow: :Brow:

Worst... 1981 Dodge Detomaso(Turismo-Charger). It was red and black and looked like a poor man's Ferrari 308. The damn thing had a three speed stick that felt like farm equipment when shifting into gear. It finally stopped shifting at all so I took it to the dealer and spent a ton of money and guess what, it still wouldn't shift into gear.

Second Worst... 86 Ford Escort. Bought the car in late 86 with like 3000 miles on it. The electric fans didn't work so it overheated at idle(In the park with all the girls watching) It had two of them and one of them never ever turned. The AC would blow smoke out of it. I'm not talking condensation but thick white smoke in the passenger compartment. One day while driving with friends I smashed into the back of a truck with an iron rear bumper and the front end was toast. After I got it out of the body shop everything had been replaced and the car worked perfectly therafter. When I went to pick up the car a guy there was ticked off because his new Mustang 5.0 would not idle properly and they had no fix for it. Ford makes some real crap.

Best... 76 Dodge Colt. Great little car. Totalled it joyriding while drunk. Don't drink and drive.

    my worst.....

Well, when i was trouble shooting my gs after i first finished it.....i thought it may win for awhile, but now it's probably my top 3.

My 77 rustang cobra II was definately the biggest POS i have ever owned. I gave the car back to the guy i was buying it off of, just so i wouldn't have to pay it off. Lost about $2500.00 in less than three months. Walked for 6 months till i could afford another ride.

cpk 71 im just a number

My worst was an83 renault alliance, boy what a POS could only drive for 15minutes at a time if u stopped like for a light or traffic it would die out, wait 5 minutesit would start no problem, it left me stranded on tracks more than once All my 12 + buicks have been joys to own and drive. But my current daily driver 99 gtp is the nicest car i've owned. My first was a 55 ford ranch wagon cool car always got looks in that one.

My worst car was my first car. 1991 Oldsmobile cutlass calais. I bought the car for $400 and it had 58,000 original miles on it so I jumped on it. The day I go to pick up the car it didn't even start lol. Brought it to a gas station mechanic and got ripped off. Now I know never to bring it to a gas station unless for some gas or an oil change. The 2.5 4 banger was a good reliable engine and very good on gas. I heard the 2.5 quad motors were no good. Though in one year I put on 20,000 miles on it, I neglected the car when I bought my 1984 Electra. So one day when the Buick was not starting right, I took out the Cutlass calais and it died on me for the last time. I was driving, and it just bottomed out. Don't know what happened maybe the timing belt snapped off, the car was in second gear and it just slowed down and wouldn't start. So I called a tow truck to keep it and thats that.
