Winning the Pro Bracket class at the 1st Annual BPG Nationals. This was special because it was almost 20 years to the day that my father passed away, and only about 90 miles from where we lived when he was alive. I bought my car when I turned 16 with some of the money that he had set aside for me. This was also the first time my mom saw me race. She drove from Reno, Nevada to be there. My Aunt and Uncle from Pittsburgh were also there.

I didn't think I would even make it. I had a bare block on the stand 2-3 weeks before the event.

Hey, the sun was in my eyes and I couldn't see the tree... I had grease on my shoe and my foot slipped off the gas pedal... I forgot to pump up my front tires for less rolling resistance... I had a hangover...

Got engaged at the RM classic car show here in Chatham Ontario. That was a highlight. Low point was seeing my faded beat up paint next to some really really nice cars. I was the only Boattail there though. and in a field of over 1500 cars thats not bad!

Most exciting moment of the year.... Rod making it into the 7 sec club :)

Memorable moment... going down the track for the first time ever, shame it was in a pooch of a car. But it's all training of the Hawk :Brow:

Duh moment of the year.... not changing over the slicks to the old ones in Salem. Would of loved to show Scotty what Rod's car can really do. Impressing the "Man" would of been great. But we were a little busy rebuilding the rear end :Do No:

My accomplishment of the year.... taking on and finishing the Buick Calendar!!

I don't post all that often, but I felt I should for this. I feel 2004 was a cool year indeed.

    2004, buick related:
Got home from Iraq, and drove my car for the first time in 2 years...1st time it had a 455 in it...unbelievable (sp, I've had a few).
Started buying parts I'd been dreaming of getting for a year and a half. Good stuff.
    2004, non buick related:
Made a 5 speed army M818 do a burnout through first and second with a ghetto ghetto rigged propane canister, and blowing out one tire on the way.
    Running over a port-a-potty at 25 in an 818.
Drinking more in a war zone than I have ever drank in the "real world."
    Getting engaged (very cool indeed.)
    and finally:
ramping an army paid for go-kart at around 30mph up a 6 foot ramp and breaking the suspension upon the landing, and seriously hurting my head (it was a dare, what could I say?)

Happity new year 2k5, and I wish you all the best. :beer

Took a cruise out of New Orleans was very nice. Half tanked before the ship was even untied from the pier.
Coolest thing was taking my nine year old daughter out of the camper one morning about 5AM. We paddled our canoe to a quiet spot & watched a couple deer drinking from the river. She snagged her first fish that morning too.

    Couple of cool things

    1. Finished my house addition after 2 years. It takes a long time when you are adding 1500 sq feet, working a full time job and doing it yourself. Plus somewhere along the line I got old.

    2. Finally got my wifes Buick completly apart and now the building will begin

    3. Reached my 30 year aniversary with my wife. What a good sport she is.

    Happy new year to all
