Come on now.....we all had something that stands out in our minds as the most memorable, most fun, or the craziest thing that happened to us in the year that is about to pass into history. SO LET THE STORIES FLOW !!!!!!!!!!!!! :Comp: :Comp: :Comp: :Comp: :Comp: :Comp: :Comp:
Finding out the best way to do a burnout in my car is to powerbrake it, spin it till it shifts into second and let off the brake while feathering the gas to spin it until you are tired of it......in front of the entrance to our subdivision....ok, it's not cool but it does raise the pulse rate :3gears:
We did alot of "cool "things in 2004 for one it would be moving to the country and getting the pole building up and running . And Shirl got her 70 GS and won gold at the BPG's first event in Salem . But we can't forget our June get together with all of our Buick friends ! Can't wait till June !!! :bglasses: :bglasses: :3gears: :3gears: :TU:
buick travel driving my car to ohio and competeing in norwalk and BPG First big go, meeting lots of on line friends and making more friends in this great community would have to be it for me!!
My coolest 1) I got my wagon back :3gears: :3gears: with a wicked rebuild to boot. 2) Beat Yardley in a race at the 1st BPG Nats, just kidding Yards  3) Ran a 12.21 @ 110mph. Happy New Year everyone :beer Beth
Salem was killer... Being able to drive my car 3000 miles for Buick related road trips - priceless:grin: Bruce & Shirl's Plano - BCA Nats, received a Bronze plaque (my first ever!) Salem - BPG Nats, 1st in class...being the only open modified big Buick there:laugh: I know there are more of you out there!!!!!
Going to Indy and watching firsthand as my brother won Stock Eliminator. E-town win was nice in front of the homecrowd. Flying out to Pomona, CA and finding out as I landed in Vegas that we had indeed won the NHRA Stock Eliminator Champhionship! Getting some neat parts from the great folks here on the V8 Buick site. Cycle trip to Niagara Fall and Mt. Washington!!
Not Car Related Watching my wife get a C-Section and seing my first baby boy being pulled out of my wife's stomach. That was AMAZING!! ( something i will never forget)
Super Cool! Walking my daughter down the aisle, on her wedding day. Was enough to make this grown man cry. Here's a pic from just after high school. She looks like her Mom, so I am told.
Hiking at the base of Mt Kilamanjaro with my father and son and having a herd of elephants pass within 50 ft us while we just sat quietly and watched. Later that same day, watching a pride of lions that had just killed a gazelle being attacked by a large group of hyenas in an effort to steal the gazelle. It was captured all on film. VERY COOL Mark
The simple preasure of learning how to sail on the Chesapeke Bay. It was so relaxing I read 4 books in 6 days. In 2005...It's learning to fly....but I ain't got wings. Coming down, is the hardest thing.
When I got my tattoo and when I took the 300 out of the Skylark. Yeah I know some of you do that on a daily basis but It was a first for me.
Winning the quick 16 at Salem in front of my family. The first race that I won with my dad watching. This was enough for me to put racing on hold for a while to spend more time with my son. Best year of racing I have ever had, 3 class wins 1 king of the hill win and a runner up in four Buick races, perfect time to retire for a couple years. We will be spectating some of the races the next few years then returning to race when my son is a bit older and ready to be a larger part of the race team. Hope the new year is half as good to me as last year was. Happy New Year to all.
Hey Ron, Great questions!!!!!! Most memorable..... Unfortunately, I will never forget the CLOUD of sparkling fiberglass at the end of Norwalks racetrack when dad wrecked the car. What a sinking feeling! Most FUN The BPG event... having Scotty, T/A Mike, Dave Mongeon, Csordas, and a slew of other fast 455 Buick powered cars race against each other. This would have been my most memorable if the most memorable wouldn't have happened. Craziest WOW... I am an old man... nothing crazy happens anymore.... THIS REALLY SUCKS. I have to set a goal for next year. TO ALL IN THE BUICK COMMUNITY..... HAVE A.... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
most memorable: seeing the look on my kids face as john and robin stevens introduced him to BBB horsepower. thanks again! Happy New Year to all, jim h.
