even with all stock bottom end guts??!! really! bad thing is, stock intake. that cant be good to 6500 rpm, can it? and yes, he is a chevy guy, as they do a lot of roundy round engines. would LOVE to get a X-FACTOR intake, just for the summer:Brow: :Brow: but for now, cam gears an converter. no green for head porting.maybe try my hand at it??

What are the stats on the lunati cam? Or did I miss them somewhere in the thread? The 268 is a step up from the 260 I run and they are both pretty lame from what I've read. Correct me if I'm wrong but I heard somewhere they are an old Chevy grind and because the intake and exhaust have the same lift neither are suited well for Buick motors because we need more exh.

I meant with a spreadbore carb on a spreadbore intake, which I believe is what he has.

Thats a very well tuned 350 you have there Doug. I'm not saying you can't go fast with a 268, I'm just saying there are much better options out there. Ones that I wish I knew about when my motor was built.

only issue on the 350 it sucks with with stock heads and any d/p intake. you will never go back if you build it like ours. fact!!
only 2 people i know right now that run a s/p intake. us and gunn. ask gunn how if felt the first time running a s/p. he was very surprised.

stock bottom ends parts, done correctly will go 7500. all we do is just change the rod bearings every year.

Good stuff guys. I like the idea of adjustable push rod to 0 lash and add .020. That is much simpler than what I did. Also I would think that if you did nothing but add the 100 shot you would be in the high 13.'s. I don't know much about the small block stuff so maybe I should keep my mouth shut. But, if you put a high stall and good gears and 6000 rpm cam why would you not have an intake that would allow you to shift at 5800. Also 210 compression test that seems really good. Is that normal for a 10:1 motor?

if building a 350 gets any simpler, we will be into belly button terrority :Dou:

You are correct! There are better options available. I did a little port work to my otherwise stock heads. I'm just saying that 14s are realistic with this old grind.
