Id run scolding hot water for a while down the drain. Most bugs don't drown easy, but they will cook. he/she is probably grabbed a hunk of gook in the pipe and is waiting to crawl back up.

Some bugs can stay under or in water up to a week! Also where do you think he came in from...........Think about that the next time you are in the shower  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

You are screwed---that is one of those new Home Depot/Shower Spiders!--they came into the country in some ocean containers that Home Depot brought in about a year ago from China with shower stalls. These spiders are impossible to get rid of---they survive hot water etc. Many Chinese factory workers lost their feet and toes to these things when they were testing the shower stalls. Home Depot is terrified of the class action lawsuits that will be filed against them. Pest control companies here have no idea how to get rid of these things as they are resistant to most chemicals. You may have to fill your shower drain with concrete.

Step on it, that will kill it :Dou: or break out the flame thrower!!

it kind of looks like a brown recluse but I think they might have hair. Those are evil spiders!! Rod was bit by one. Their poison eats away at your tissue. He said he had a hole in the side of his belly that he could stick his thumb in. That was after he pulled the pussie gob of gunk out of it to clean it. SICK! He will knock down small childred to this day to get away from a spider.
