True, I like it when the stereo covers up the " zing zing zing " of the massive 4 cylinder motor under the hood. I listen to mostly classic rock with a little country and heavy metal thrown in on the sides. The only thing I can't stand to listen to is Rap (yuk).

i have never heard of this before. not suprising as it usually takes a while for stuff to filter down to us here in missoula. but i was in my favorite inde record store this afternon and saw this album [yes, vinyl!]. the guy had it on CD and let me check it out. i told him this is the sort of stuff that would disturb my neighbors  and i promptly bought it! thanks for the heads up. i have always liked dave grohl's approach to music if not his particular style of late. but this is a great record :TU:

I listen to nearly everything. There has been a lot of good music in all genres over the years. On weekends my radio is on the local "Eightes rewind", since I'm from the eightes. But my favorite band ever is still "The Moody Blues"!!!!!!!!!

My first post was all the heavy stuff I started on when in middle school, which I still love, I love the energy the most. Over the years I have picked up on other bands and like them for different reasons.

Dave Mathews for one, Buck-O-Nine is entertaining too.

Then there is the English band "The Tiger Lillies" if you want to weird out (Male Opera singer, upright acoustic bass, sounds like German Umpa music and they sing about crazy stuff that heavy metal doesn't even get into, oh yeah and they wear white corpse paint)

But lately there is a phenomenon with the band "The Darkness" imagine every classic rock song wrapped up in one album and that is THE DARKNESS. One song sounds like Queen, another AC/DC, another the Rolling Stones and on and on.

PROBOT is a cool concept. Dave Grohl with some buddies made up several songs based on Heavy Metal and Punk influences he had growing up and they said wouldn't it be cool to have the singers from those bands sing the songs. So he sent the music to 11 different lead singers and each one sang on a track. So you have Cronos from Venom, Lemmy from Motorhead, King Diamond and several others. Plus to keep in the "mood" they offer the album on vinyl. They did a 2 song single on vinyl several months ago and it sold out immediately, I've seen them on E-bay for $250. P.S. there is a hidden 12th song!

Been listening to Smile Empty Soul and the new Incubus like crazy for the past few weeks but as a musician there is an a$$load of music I like. Ranging from from swedish techno ( Adam Beyer ) and Trance ( Hallucinogen, GMS , Nuclear Ramjet ) to older metal ( Sepultura, Slayer, Pantera ) to Linkin Park, Slipknot & Rammstein. Those are all aggressive groups that fit that sort of mood. Theres a whole other list to listen to when its time to put down the chainsaw and bottle of Jack to kick back in the barco-lounger and watch horsepower tv.

Im always on the hunt for new sounds and love finding new bands that push the limits of whats already been done.
