My other hobby is metal detectoring, so I guess you can say I hunt for old coins, my oldest coin that I have is a half cent the date is worn off but you can make out the impression on both sides and it was minted between 1793 to 1797. I found it in 2" of soil around an old burned down house that was used for slaves long ago.
collection I collect stained glass windows and have 42 now - I have a ton of antiques in my home. I also agressively collect literature, dealer showroom items, technical items and other "stuff" for 1967 & 1969 Buicks.
You ready?..... Old Sega Videogames, mainly post 1990 videogames (which is a long time for games) At it's largest I had over 200 games, all originals most mint shape. I've cut down as of late, still have about 150 games. Trevor
Sounds cool Trevor. I myself collect 1:18 scale vehicles, street signs, and old tools. ____________ Rob 1972 Riviera
Guitars. Well I don't really collect, just buy what I'm going to play. I'm trying to create a Sega collection. I have a Dreamcast, Saturn, SegaCD, MasterSystem. No Genesis yet so can't use the SegaCD at the moment.
I'm not sure I'd call it 'collecting'.......but, I have well over 3000 car magazines from the early 80's til now. :eek2: Used to get Hot Rod, Car Craft, Popular Hot Rodding & Super Chevy. For a while, I got several Street Rod mags, truck mags, motorcycle mags, etc. More recently, it's been GM High Tech Perf. and occasionally Chevy Hi Perf.
Dan, I got a Sega Genesis that's in mint shape with a few games. Make me an offer (Really, any offer) and you can have it, plus shipping of course.
... I collect all kinds of stuff off and on, but mostly swords, knives (bayonets are a favorite) and most recently ive gotten into airsoft guns, 1/1 scale replicas of real steel that fire 6mm bbs and paintballs. Fun for war games in the back yard. So far ive got an H&K G36c, Desert Eagle .50 , Cobray Mac 11 fully auto (20 bb's a sec!) , and am bidding on a Tec 9. Heres a shot of my M11, clip fed and all.
I have to admit that I'm a Star Trek lover. I have all the X-mas Hallmark ornaments as well as a host of various stuff from over the years.
Collections I collect everything if you ask my wife. Buick stuff, model cars( I really like the old AMT annuals and still need some Buicks.hint hint) old gas station stuff like signs, pumps ,tins etc., tootsie toy and other toy cars-trucks, hot rod type magazines( I think I now have a complete set of Rod& Custom) pedal cars and tractors and I have about 10,000 hub caps that I wheel and deal in. I had a auction about a year ago to get rid of some stuff and bring in some Buick money and I have enough stuff for another one but its hard to part with some of my treasures so I'll just keep on keepin' on!! Mike
Oh yeah, I've got a bunch of old magazines too. Hot Rod, Car Craft, Hop Up, Speed Age, Motor, Motor Age, and a couple others. All from the early 50's to the late 60's. I'd do some trading with them....
record albums specifically, but music in general that i like. i have a collection of old beer glasses, computer stuff, camera stuff [odd stuff like old 110 cameras, oddball 35mm, the occasional video bit], when we float the river in the summer, i will collect rocks and fossels i find on the gravel bars, oddball toys, any off-the-wall trinket i find at goodwill, yardsales, or just on the ground...really, i embarrass my girlfriend when we go for walks and i end up with a whole pocket full of junk i pick up off the road...WOW, LOOK AT THIS! isnt this cool....NO, ROB PUT IT DOWN!
LP's, Old electronics, Sewing Machines,Dragons (42 at last count) Antique Hub Caps. a few old cameras. Recluse: you'll love that Tec 9 if you get it. I have a Tec 22 and the kids just love shooting it. I put a Hellfire on it and spits out all 32 faster than you can fart. The hardest part is loading those mags and you can go thru 5000 rounds real quick.
