I find it interesting that John is going out tomorrow to put a little more distance between us, while I too, am going out to try to get in front of him again! Good Luck, John and Stan!

Well I'm not a fast car. But then again I only have about $1800 in my car. 85 Regal w/ stock 69 350, NP A-833 OD trans, GN 3.42 posi rear, headers and duals. Best so far is 15.27@90 MPH. :puzzled: But if youns woulda seen me building it in my driveway last June, you'd all be surprised that it even runs.

Hows it going John, Last season I got the car running 8.80`s at 150 with a 1.19 60ft. This year I`ve added a dry sump system and freshenup the engine with new pistons, rods, cam, rings, bearings, oil pan, dry sump tank and pump, valve job, springs and retainers, honed the block and decked it, and lots of #12 pro lite hose. I went over the engine design with Andy and we decided to knock out some compression in the engine. I`m at 14.5 now where last season I was almost at 16.1. The car should run faster this year, still injected on alcohol. My bob weight is almost in the 1300`s. I had this engine dynod two seasons ago and made almost 800 HP with an alcohol carb. With that set up the car ran the best of 9.01 at 147. Then I switched to injection and went 2 tenths quicker. The car weighs 2750 with me in it.

Its called wheel spin. I spent the better part of that weekend tring to decide what to do to cure it. The car would launch then unload the tires and start spinning the hides thru the 1000 foot lites and so on. If I ever make a straight pass a 9 of some sort should be the result!!!:beer

    Paul,

Thanks for posting some pics of your engine. That is quite an impressive piece of engineering. So... If I get this correct you will have an engine that is smaller than 450 CID and will be running quicker than 8.80s at 2700 lbs. That is IMPRESSIVE!!!! Also.... a low 1400 gram bob weight??? Are you forgetting about pistons LOL. Just kidding.

Good Luck.... see ya at Norwalk!!!

The Gsx runs 12.50's @107 and it's been running that since about 1984. I still have the numbers matching block in it, so I don't want to build it any faster. The Gn I have now should be a high 11 car (haven't run this one yet).
