What do you miss about the old board?

With all the quirky discussions lately hope this won't stir the pot again. But after a long time with this new format to fend off the spammers I have a request if it's possible. Also, thank you for Mike, Jim and everybody's hard work to make this an even better board than before. It's just that I miss one thing.

I miss the ability to "show threads in last three days". Sometimes I come on, then have to go out to do something else, and when I come back lose the recent threads I didn't have a chance to scroll through yet. I don't have the patience to look for them on so many forums.

So one thing I miss is the "threads in last three days". Is it possible to get that back?

I like a lot of the cool new stuff. I'm so used to the new format now that I hardly remember how the avators looked before. Remember how weird it looked like when it first came up?

And thanks for restoring the for sale threads to the honor system. I'm being more careful than ever to stick to the point or just shut up.

Yes Mike, that feature will be coming back, but after making Mike take off his real job for a week, to put it back together, I figured it would be good to let him get away from it for a while.

All I get is XXX posts since your last visit instead of a real number. Is this just me or another featureto be turned on later?

    I miss:

The link on the home page to go right into our Private Messages.

I miss the "Home" link at the top of every page (like from our Private Messages).

Yardley, as a mod i gotta rib you on that one. Click on Brad's car and you get to the home page.

Click on quick links to get into private messages from any page.

right on the top, where your avatar and username are displayed, it list the number of private messages you have, and if you click "private messages" it goes right to that page.

This PM system is much better than the last version. Only the message confirmation thing annoys me a little..

And I use it a lot.. I have already had over 1000 PM's on this version of the board.. I like the download feature, as I save all of them.

not sure If I'm doing something wrong, but I have a real runaround after I post a reply. I hit Post quick reply then there is no way to get back to the message board I just came from easily. I end up hitting back a couple of times. ie. If I post here and what to directly go back to inside "the bench" I can't do it unless I hit back.

Trevor, after you do a reply, instead of hitting the back button a few times, just go up Next to the Back button, there is a little "down arrow" there. Click the down arrow, and pick from the list it shows, which page you want to go back to. Works much better than the back button.

Try Right-clicking on the thread name, and opening in a new window. When you are done with that particular thread, exit the window - BAM you're right where you started.

That works really well if you use a tabbed browser. I set mine up to open the link in a new window with the middle (wheel) click on my mouse.

I'll second the tabbed-browser comment. Its a wonderful way to browse this board.
