John Allen, your blue 70 GS convert is gorgeous. I'm still drooling. I've seen a lot of 70 Skylarks/GS's in gold or brown. I have never seen a 70 GS in bamboo cream, or seamist green. o No: If I could've ordered one new, I would've ordered Sherwood Green with a Black painted top. :TU: -Kevin
I have a 70 Skylark Custom, Bamboo Cream that had sandalwood(B50/B52 overstuffed)bench and gold top. Will now have Dark saddle GS interior with a brown top.(If Ican find one) The other is a 70 Post car that is Gulfstream blue with blue interior. Also had a 75 red with Black vinyl top 315 hp motor that was parted and a 70 GS that was Cornet Gold/Blk vinyl (350)and recently parted a Diplomat Blue GS 455 with blue interior Pat
Azure Blue. 20 20 paint code. A Riveria color specially ordered for the GS. Did'nt make the list either.
My GS is Desert Gold. From what I have read on the daily report from Buick is that there were only 54 Desert Gold GS 455 cars. I know this number sounds awfully low,but there it is folks. What would be interesting to find out is how many were Stage 1 cars. Anyone take a guess?
Silver Mist Seems to be more and more code 14 cars showing up. I have one, and know of several others now.
My 70 GS 350 "Bamboo Creme" - Original Car Seems like Bamboo Creme is in the lead . . . here's one more to add to the list. This is my 70 GS 350. Ok, so Bruce took the picture - not sure who the girl in the photo is but it's definitely my car. + :3gears: :3gears:
Great Topic! My '70 Stage1 project is a 78-78 car, Burgundy mist metallic and I can't wait to see it shine again......my Skylarks and parts cars (all '70 models) were originally as follows: convertible: 28 A Diplomat blue w/ white top 2dr hardtop: 50 F Bamboo Cream w/ brown vinyl top 68 68 Burnished Saddle metallic parts 2dr. HT: 14-14 Silver Mist metallic parts 4dr. sedans: 58-19 Harvest Gold w/ Regal black roof (scrapping soon) 45-G Seamist Green w/ green vinyl top (now razor blades?)
Is this "nice?" Heres a picture of my 70 Skylark. 55-55 coronet gold no top just the way I like it. Kevin
Titian Red didnt make the list. Special order, a Riv color . I've always wondered how many 70 GS Stage 1's out there are Titian Red.
Heres some trim tags, all are off of 70 Skylarks I've found in junkyards over the years. The paint code on the top right is kinda hard to read but it is also 55-55. Just like mine. :TU: Kevin
When I made this thread, I only posted the colors that were "available" on a Skylark body. For those of you who didn't see your color on the list I'm sorry. I don't have anything against tealmist gray, azure blue, or titan red. Kevin
Oh... original color. Sherwood Green (I think). For parking services at Cleveland State University (when getting my parking pass) I listed the color as Rust.
'70 Stage 1 was Sherwood Green with a black vinyl top -now Saturn Yellow. Also have a GS 350 that was/is fire red in prosess of restoration :bglasses:
