I should have done this before assembling, trying to track component weights. Anyone know these weights? Thanks

If it’s still a question in a week I will weigh my new stage 2’s and let you know.

I believe TA claims a weight savings of 60 lbs. total when using aluminum heads, so 30 lbs./head?

Thanks Cliff. I know the aluminum heads still weigh a fare amount. I would have weighed my cast iron heads, but the motor I removed is staying intact as a display pce (or spare if needed) IMG_0391.jpeg

I weighed the 2inch stage 2 headers…..might surprise you that both headers and collectors come in at a hefty 42.8 lbs
Both cast iron manifolds and downpipes to cross member weigh in at 44.52 lbs.
    so saving 1.72 lbs

I just shipped 2 cast iron heads and they were about 100 for the set........my aluminum heads are drastically lighter and are far lighter bbc heads.......if I have time tomorrow I will but both on the scale to compare

When I bought the Stage 2 heads from Guy,I was shocked at how much they actually weighed. But, still lighter than a cast head.

Cast 455 heads loaded 64# wrapped in cardboard. Maybe 2-3# of cardboard.

So the TA catalog is very close. They say 60 lbs. weight savings.

Thanks everyone for the responses. the headers versus cast exhaust manifolds is tiny weight savings. The heads are considerable…..63.6 lbs weight reduction.

anyone know the weight of a cast iron 1972 intake?

    weight of a TA SPX?

I stumbled onto a document the other day that had the weights listed for virtually everything.
    Long block
    Starters
    Alternators
    Water pumps

I've searched for 4 days and cannot find that list.

Stock 73lb crank vs billet 56lb crank. It helps in more ways than one.
