I am in dire need of both front inner fenders (wheel wells) for my 72 gs clone project. Both my project and parts car's have much more rust damage then I originally suspected. Thanks guys! (Shipping to Calgary Canada t2k-1b8 or Montana USA 59917)
Pengy..I have a decent set of both IFW.... VERY usable! $225 /set...Shipping may be a deal-killer but I will ship to Montana. If you are interested I will dig them out of storage and send you pix with details. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Here ya go Pengy..AS PROMISED!: right and left, 70-72 inner fender wells...VERY DECENT usable condition. The battery side (passenger side) MOST DIFFICULT TO FIND IN GOOD SHAPE has, other than slight surface scum, virtually no rust...!! The driver side, other than a little rust issue on the right corner (NOT at all visable when installed!!!) equally as nice! So..I will need shipping info to MONTANA...and I'll ship whichever way you want: ie: UPS, fedex, UPSPS or greyhound...YOUR CALL. :beers2: Lemono! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Troy....UPS, USPS and FEDEX all claim the address you gave me is not valid. !!! I cannot get a quote on this package 24x24x48 weighing 45#'s until I can provide the correct addy. ou: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
that is very odd... Iv had dozens of items shipped to that address with no issues.. http://www.montanashipping.com/ 121-B Dewey Avenue Box 580 Eureka, MT 59917 406-297-2016
I wonder....COULD IT BE ..the SIZE is the issue??? this box is huge... OR MAYBE..because I listed TROY PENGY as the recipient of the package..and it doesnt recognize your name as recipient?? I dunno. I'm reaching here.. HOW ABOUT we try MONTANA SHIPPING OUTLET name at that address... that might work... If nothing else, I might have to look into Greyhound... Wheelz, Tampa Bay
THAT WAS IT!! once I added the Montana Shipping Outlet name BINGO! ..and I just got two quotes....OUCH. UPS wants 191.50 Fedex wants $178. Talking to a local UPS rep just now, he suggests I wrap these instead of boxing them...the 24x24x48 size almost calls for a freight shipped package...which may be the high cost. SO, back to the drawing board. I will find some corrugated and wrap these buggirs then get a new shipping quote for you. Its a lot more work so canya gimme a dayer two? Wheelz, Tampa Bay
The address you previously sent me NEVER HAD A NAME...so the address was incomplete. I NEVER knew your last name either...I input your name as TROY PENGY...wrong.. once I entered the correct addy info the quotes when right thru. It would have been nice to have all the info from the beginning, as you have included in your last PM to me just now....sure would've saved me a lot of time. ou:
I concurr...however, something must've set off the shipping estimate because I was asked all kinds of questions regarding the size, address and details about WHO it was going to..I've never seen that information request before on just a quote...? o No: Nevertheless, I should get a good quote sometime friday... :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Troy....PLEASE FORGIVE ME for ever replying to your post. Heres why. I've just spent the entire afternoon putting together a shipping plan. via telephone quote... Fedex and UPS were relatively close in price comparison,...however.. before spending MORE of my time wrapping these things up, I decided to go ahead and take them BARE to the POST OFFICE and UPS (fedex is too far) to get a real, honest-to-goodness, hands on shipping quote MAINLY BECAUSE I've been burned by on-Line shipping quotes lately...uzzled: The PO people just laughed at me as I walked in! One lady driver said it wouldnt even fit in her delivery truck! :Brow: So the PO is definitely out. So I then drove down to UPS... (see pix) ...we configured. We RE- configured. The poor dood at UPS tried all kinds of trix for over 45 minutes.... he tried corporate shipping rates. Ground rates. Shipping via Freight, less handling, all kinds of ways. As a single piece, because of the strange configuration of the part, the cheapest estimate was $119.60. TIMES TWO. I wire tied them together and figured MAYBE it was less if they were in one pack. Well not a substantial savings but ..try $231! AND THAT is NOT INCLUDING boxes, wrapping materials, peanuts tape etc... You are looking at close to $260+ just for shipping these silly things! :eek2: I obviously cant speak for you but I think that is outrageous ESPECIALLY since you can ship a WHOLE CAR for about $500!!! BUT. . . it IS your call. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Hey Wheelz. You may have thought of this already, but what about Greyhound / Penske? I bought an inner fender from a guy in Arizona about 3-4 years ago and it was about $35-40 to ship the one to southeast Fla. The Bus depot was 2 twons away for pickup. Just my .02 cent's Gent.
I appreciate the idea but...the Greyhound bus terminal is in north Pinellas..and every time I go there, it costs me at least three hours...uglee mean toofless people with 18 screamin kids, almost homeless elderly waiting in line and NOT having a clue...and the representatives behind the counter just dont giva dern WHO they tick-off....so NO. I'm really NOT INTERESTED. I feel I've already spent more time than what these are worth...so, if Troy doesnt want these parts...and someone doesn't want to drive up to my door to get them...they're going back into my storage for perhaps another project. . . .and thats all Im gonna say about that. :Brow:
