There's also one owned by Jim Lore (FLYNBUICK) on this board. It's a concours beauty that will not be inexpensive. It may be the best one period. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=115198 Contact Jim by clicking on his username above and sending him a PM or email.
I have one if interested, just coming off a 5 yr nut and bolt restoration. All numbers are matching. Apollo White,Stage 1, Auto, air, pw, pdl, am/fm, rear speaker. A lot of NOS parts were used on the restoration. Wayne Roberts documented. If interested email me anytime ebax049@verizon.net Thanks' Ernie I
Marco, Is this car "concours"? Doesn't it have to be judged and awarded that distinction? Just curious.
I doubt anyone having seen Jim's car would doubt the concours claim, judged or not. It is truly an artform of Buick muscle.
Do you have any constraints on what you are looking for. Do you want a concours restored car or a fixer upper? Do you want numbers matching drive train or does it matter? Is either color acceptable? Is there a price range you want to stay within? There are cars for sale now that are Stage-1 cars but price and condition will play into what you can get. Mark
One at auction in Indianapolis next weekend. http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/S1...013QQitemZ230238861681QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Mark
Buying GX is a easy as opening the checkbook. I remember when you could not find one for sale easily and now I bet I could find 10 that I know of and there are surely more. With the rise in the value of these they seem to have come out of hiding! Good luck in your search, I am sure you'll find what you want here .
Yes, you are correct - it has not been judged (to my knowledge). This GSX was restored as the "BEST GSX" (no expense spared) by Tri-Shield Performance, under to scrutiny of Jim Lore, using the best of parts, whether bought, replated, or fabricated. Jim Weise has restored other cars which I know were judged gold. :gp: :beer
Yes a very nice car, as I have seen it up close. I seriously doubt it would get the gold award as is though, and I believe that is WHY it was never entered.:bglasses:
Why would you say that, until this restoration gets a little age on it there is not a better GSX in the country! Pat
Well for starters, Duane's 71 GSX did take GOLD (400 pt) and is nicer, and there are others out there. Concourse has strict guide lines, and they need to be followed. I'm just saying don't CALL something concourse GOLD if it is NOT or has NOT been judged. Put up, or shut up! Someone PLEASE explain to me why the car has not been judged? Did he run out of :dollar: and can't afford to have it judged, or does he fear it would not do so well? uzzled: I don't know. I just think it is a slap in the face for everyone else who does have a concourse gold, to have to read about a car claiming to be that has NEVER been judged.:Smarty: Enough...
If you have seen Jim Lore's 2 cars , then you need to shut up. Only a dumbass would not consider those cars gold or plantinum concours cars.
Wow! Who put the dikweed in your kool-aiduzzled: I would put JW's resto's of Lore's cars up against anything. Two of the finest restorations I have ever seen. Why the personal attack on JW's work and JL's finances? seriously dude, WTF
:gp: :gp: :gp: :gp: :gp: :gp: :gp: :gp: :gp: The poor guy who started this thread by asking a simple question for his first post must think this is some sort of rude, insulting board like so many out there...ou: If you're going to hijack a thread, at least be polite, or funny, or something...not to mention this is the CARS WANTED section, not the bench.
"It's a concours beauty that will not be inexpensive. It may be the best one period." Marco simply implied the car was built to be a serious competitor at concours level. No mention of gold in the description. No mention of it ever taking any awards. "It MAY be the best one period" doesn't imply it IS without a doubt either. From here it appears you may have gotten a little overly picky on his wording of the description of Jim's car. Are you one of the gold winners who is allegedly offended?
