i call the sheet metal "valance" for lack a better word. this stainless trim piece that i refer to covers the very bottom edge of vinyl roof below the rear window and then connects to the chromed corner trim pieces. i have all the belt clips required for all the stainless trim , but it is two metal clips in the picture, that i am inquiring about.
Gerry, you should only need 4 of the metal clips I describe above, 2 for each side on the corner pieces. The center and side trim is held on by plastic clips that slide on to the factory rivets. You just press the trim onto the clips. Don't forget to slide the side and center trim thru/under the corner pieces before you tighten them down. Hope this makes sense for you.
jeff: fyi- i have only one clip, not the same as in the picture, at each end in the rear window stainless, that bolts thru the panel. if the pictured clip works, that is great. i am going to order a pair as my clips need replacement. the side stainless is attached to the quarter with three plastic (belt) clips.
Gerry, make sure you get four clips (2 per corner) total. One clip for each side piece at the rear and two clips for the ends of the long center piece in the middle. When you are all done, it should look like this - see attached pic.
Jeff, outstanding clean looking metal above the trunk lid at seams. Did it come this way or did you need to repair?
Dave, The car was virtually rust free with the original sheet metal and only needed very minor repair. You were talking about the sheet metal and not the chrome trim for the vinyl top...right? Thanks for the compliment.
tkx jeff. both my brother's car & mine only had the special clips for each end of the cross piece of stainless. i would believe that u are totally correct. i know that my vinyl roof was not original.
