    very close

Jarrod I would say you are close as to restore it is around 50k maybe less if you have parts you bought years ago but the way X's are going at or around 100k publicly I would say 50k would not be unrealistic in the market we are now in. A side note also I see Spike TV is going to have a MusleCar show Starting in Jan and though I am looking forward to seeing it. many of you like me have limited funds to spend on cars and parts this being said after this show gets going there very well may be yet anouther "Spike" in prices and sadly this will put a lot of people that love these cars out of the picture yes I know this is just the way it is and times are changing I just know there are a lot of very cool members that are and have been wavering on staying in the game with old cars one example is a carolina chapter member said to me he has ordered a new Mustang and though I do like them I wish he would have bought one more Buick for his collection but as he said he can drive his mustang everyday it has a warranty and he can get 300HP to the rear with no problem and have a blast driving it and not feel if he dents it or GOD forbid he breaks his grill he wont be out a mint trying to find parts and fix it I know this has been talked about alot as of late but one fact that I feel has not been addressed is that as these cars go up and collectors buy them for investment reasons we will se some of what makes these cars great go away and that is The People That Own Them this to me is one of the best parts about these cars I realy enjoy meating and talking to some of the members here and chapeter club members and to me the cars are just that much better when you meet some of the people that love and drive them lets face it some of the members on this board are great friends thanks to these cars they may never have met if it was not for these cars and that to me is a point that is missed here so think about it and may you all have a great christmass, happy new year, and god bless you all :beer

I will get off my soapbox now this is just my .02 cents worth

    Well...
After the latest things that have happened to cars values on Ebay,I will formally remove my hat from the ring because I will NEVER be able to afford an X.Its good news/bad news though. Good that the values are finally starting to be respectable...bad,since I will never be able to have one...Oh well,Guess I'll enjoy the Buicks I have built by myself instead.

ROFL... There is no way he's getting $125,000 for it. We all know it's a rare and supposedly all original GSX, but hardly any interior pics, or pics of the original motor, trunk. So if this was restored then it would be the next #1 GSX in the nation right????? Or at least the price bought and restored for would place it in that catagory.

Wow, looks cool to see it "in the rough." :bglasses: Not far from me either. It proves there are still cars like this sitting in garages out there.

this one should be interesting considering its original condition and the way it is equipped. Once people hear about that reserve they will not bid. Can't blame the guy for trying and he will probably get a million contacts of people that will still pay pretty big $$$ for the car. Think about it....he is just using ebay to gather names. $25000 with 9 days to go. I paid $6500 for mine in '85 and that was the price for a No.1 car in the old car price.
Mine is not a No 1 but over the years , I bet I,ve got $100,000 worth of enjoyment . Your car is only worth the enjoyment you have with it otherwise stick your money in a high interest account and sat back in your lazyboy. I'd rather park my a## in the bucket seat!!!!!

I should get off mY butt and go find that owner to that 72 GSX I found. What do you think that would fetch?

Someone will see it advertised and if the owner really wants to sell it, a buyer will go and see what it is. Pictures or not on Ebay. Maybe not for 125k but way north of 50k is my bet.

Then next year you'll see it again advertised for 250k once it's made into a number one car.

And it still won't bring 250K.

I believe what we are experiencing here is the direct result of seeing very high dollar X's and Stage 1's posted on e-bay lately.

It only takes a few with huge reserves (regardless of how or why) before everyone wants in on the show and perception becomes reality.

First it's the restored originals, then the nice unrestored originals, followed by the clones and finally the non-muscle versions.
The Mopars are good examples of what has happened in the marketplace where things have gotten out of hand.

The last real sale I've seen is between me and Al. It seems to me like all the rest of these are just a lot of smoke and mirrors.

Hard for me to understand what setting big reserves and bidding up right under them is accomplishing besides adding confusion to the market place. Maybe that's the intention?

Having said that, it's hard to forget that QQ from the junkyard that didn't have any straight panels on it that sold for $25K a while back. That was amazing.

Numbers match stage 1 4spd unrestored, my opinion? Twice the money of a restored numbers none stage auto, Same money as a restored numbers auto. It has been my experience that a 4sp will do ALMOST double. That being said do I think it will do 125, probably not, Would I sell mine that is running and driving for less than a 100? No

I have to agree with whoever said the pictures were lousy....for a car that has potential of grabbing a good chunk of $$$$, you'd think the time would have been taken to make sure the pics were better quality.

That being said, one of two things could possibly happen:

this auction could be like catching "lightning in a bottle" and the selling price could surprise the hell out of all of us....

or, the seller could be "advertising" or getting leads on buyers via eBay...

Either way, this one should be fun to watch... :Comp:
