put 30 miles on it today and never went over 195-198*. New Problem is I am building pressure in the crank case due to the boost. starting burning oil and smoking even started leaking around the valve cover from too much pressure. and A lot of guys run a line from the valve to the air inlet of the turbo. and than both valve covers to the intake manifold. pcv setup.jpg I am thinking of running a vacuum line going from the valley cover under the intake to the manifold vacuum port and than pcv port on my valve cover to the air intake tube on the turbo.
Please give me your thoughts .. Thanks Paul

Think I am dumping the royal purple oil and looking to run something else. broke it in with royal purple but don't think the rings are seating and have a tinge of blue most of the time. took it out today and it runs great but tring to work the bugs out. Letting it cool now and going to check the plugs to see how they look. My last set of plugs had two that were fouled but the rest had gd color. I will post my new findings. any tips on oil??

Paul I just run Napa conventional oil in mine 10/40 with the zinc additive. we usually run about 5000 miles before switching to a synthetic oil. Well except in the dragster then it is synthetic every 5 minutes or 3/8th mile:grin:

    Good luck with it:TU:

just came out of the garage and pulled the plugs and have cylinder#1 and #3 both oil fouled. going to do a compression test tomorrow and dump the royal purple for some conventional 10w 40 or 30 and see if it makes a difference. hopefully it is just because it isn't broken in yet and only has 50 miles on it. any tips or has anyone else ever have this issue. ??

car seems to be running a lot better but I am going to step down in jet sizes. I have a pretty gd a/f at idle =13.7. tipping in to the throttle 12.5a/f which is where I want but hammering down on it I am at 10.4 a/f. I am leaving a lot of power on the table and I feel it should rev a little faster but didn't have enough road to get past 3300-3500rpms.

What jets are you currently running? I'd start by dropping the secondaries 2 sizes, and go from there.

I was just looking at the data and I am only at 3-5 psi.. I told kevinat csu when he built it I was going to run 7 psi. wondering about changing wastegate springs to 7 psi. I think the brpv are opening to much. from reading I think you can clock the brpv to change pressure.
been reading a lot tonight about csu carbs but going to call the builder befor any changes tomorrow. Wanted to take a video of the car but my phone was dead and the a/f controller is plugged in to the cig lighter.

I have seen some cars/engines take a long time for the rings to fully seat in.... especially with chrome or moly rings...i would just keep driving it.....

Have you driven the car hard yet? Maybe the rings will seat with some hard passes put thru the engine.

On a different subject, what wheels are those?

Last night I made five or six hard passes under boost from 3-5 psi. Their is ALOT left for power on the table. found I have switch brands and I am running a 10w40 wolf oil. Cheap stuff and rings have been seating. burning of oil is very faint at times and under wot on the decell I get a puff but I am pig rich on the wot. will work it out after lake George but finishing fabrication on the hood. leaving next thurs and fab work isn't even done. Wheels on the car are Billet Specialties 20x9 in the back and 18x8 in the front. I think the rear is 285-40-20 and I have two different tires sets for the front. I run a 235-45-18 and a 245-45-18 in the front.

One a different note leaked some fuel yesterday out of the intake gasket to cylinder head. bumped fuel psi up to 7psi and found it was too much. going to 5.5psi and going to make a few hard passes to see if it changes a/fr. It should because I have boost reference power valves(brpv) and I would think changing fuel psi would change how the brpv will open.

Thank you for taking time to come visit. Meant alot to see someone come out of thier way to see the car and meet up. I was kinda in shock that we had so many people looking at the car and maybe the next time we can due some cruising in it. Was a big feat for me to make it to my first big event of any kind with the car and the newly rebuilt trailer that i never took on the highway, no matter 6 hour drive. Thank you again for comming to visit it and maybe one day a bunch of us can take some time at lebonon valley for some testing and tuning.

Nice!..... I wish I had a mill. I used a drill press, jig saw, and die grinder.
Here's a suggestion...take the divider all the way out, and make up a few inserts with different heights and experiment to see which one works best.

I think it will like that set up you are doing. Although your experimenting with the turbo. ......OK I give..I cant take it anymore . Show us what this turbo can do since the rebuild:TU::beers2:

I really like your idea!!!! maybe machine a "T" notch on each side, slip them in and out and the gasket will cover them. I did buy a spare intake and I wanted to see how much weight we can machine out of it and how much more volume we could get out of it. hmm.. wheels are turning !!

I know .. You should see how I am with trying to get it to the track. its Been one setback after another. I am trying to find out if i have to run a hood at New England because I have been having issues with my latch setup. Without Drag radials I am sure my 60ft will suck but I would be happy to be a mid 12 with high mph to show it is faster. But in all reality I have no idea what it will do until I take it their all I can do is guess. I do know one thing, romp it ,and it gets up and goes!!!

This car is just flat out awesome. That turbo whine is just mean and nasty sounding. Great job Paul.
