The thing to remember is to set what affects other things first. Start w/ dwell, which should be set @30 deg. Then set timing. Next, adjust the idle mixture, which should be best lean idle. Then set base idle, which will set cold idle as well. Use that order. Since it appears that you have located a vacuum leak, it must be fixed. I noticed that the index mark on the plate does not match any marks on the housing. I have seen the choke coils mounted upside down on the plate, causing the choke to close as temps rise. With the engine cold, set the choke to where it closes completely, then add two marks rich. Evaluate during driving, during warm up. Note before driving: check that the choke opens slowly as the housing heats. If it does not, check the coil and linkage for binding. Problems? let me know here or e-mail me. Ray
