Well I'm happy with my new transmission, except for one small problem when I use the brake to activate the switch pitch it blows fusses, they don't blow instantly, its when you're backing up or something like that where you might be tapping the brake allot, so I'm wondering how big a fuse can be used with out harming anything, I was using 7.5 Amp fusses

Find out why it is blowing the fuse. The brake light fuse is 20 amps in my GS. That is what it is supposed to be. Is the 7.5 just for the switch pitch line?

Yes the 7.5 amp is a inline fuse for the sp feed only

Then you have a short somewhere, it doesn't take 7.5 amps to energize the solenoid.

OK thanks Larry I will get the car up on stands and check the wiring

Since it worked before, you may have a short to gnd inside the trans. The insulation tends to get hard & fall off the solinoid wires at this age. I try to rework with TEFL*N insulated wire. The early solinoid were about 18 ohms, or 3/4A draw. Later ones were 10 ohms, about 1.4A draw. Bruce Roe

the wires all checked good but theres trans fluid coming out the wire contacts on the solinoid

Isolate the short by unplugging things, then track it down. The stator solinoid & the wire next to it can't be seen unless the trans is apart. Bruce
