Blown455, only in very high horsepower apps.....things like head problems.. Under 1500 hp no issue? Do you realize any other brand that has ran your boost level has a ton more power then you? I have been to the every first three NMCA WORLD FINALS in Memphis,Tennessee and back then they were at your level with three kits of nitrous and a few single turbo people. A new ford 5.0 can make that power level with a Kenne-Bell mammoth 4.5L supercharger and not be topped out. Even older 5.0L has done that including small block chevys using old cylinder heads has made the same power on less cid.Going with a light car can go extremely fast, Take a gander at youtube, Ron Rhodes Camero, 2600 pound car with a cal track system non tubbed car and a badaxx small block chevy on nitrous. He runs the fastest non tubbed car in the world 6.80 and is exspected to hit 6.30's by end of year. Thats crazy. Im still trying to figure out if the Buick heads have to ton velocity to its cfm and cc port, but as anyone ports them! The velocity go's away or speeds up to a certain point then its not right for the port size and shape. Flow is there but its not ready for anyone on motor alone now, look at the names I have mentioned and you see what I mean. Here is a good example of a good head. A company that I wont mention, took on the Ford F.E. head problem and made a billet canted valve version and it used in dragweek of the last four years in a single turbo car with 23 psi boost. In a mustang weighing 3100 pounds with driver. Car has been deep 7's ! The ports was not made huge but three years of development ten years ago. Buick needs to get out of the stone age, step up to the rest of the brands and say " hear I am" but the way things are now, no way. Mike at TA doesn't have awealthy knowledgable man on cylinder head development. It cost a ton of money to develop a cylinder head in just a trail area let alone making them without them just seating around Because not enough people need them. To make serious power cost a butt load of money period. Now throw the name Buick in to the equation? It triples. Sincerely Gary Mc.
