Thanks Jim I try to get everything done during the winter because I like to drive too much when it's nice out, and it's been snowing the last couple days and cold. I've got plenty of car projects to do that I can get done while watching TV because I can't sit still getting nothing done for more than an hour or so. Crappy weather makes it semi easy but still tedious. Plus the girlfriend knows how I am and I informed her that car projects getting done in my living room was just a fact of life when we started going out. She's supportive, or does a great job pretending........ anyway, woke up early and hit the grille. Been working off and on since about 6 this morning, and just finished the polishing part. My fingers are killing me, and I should probably go on a crime spree because I have no fingerprints.....Going to mask off and repaint the ends and brackets and call it done.
These are my hammering therapy. They were really mangled off a truck that got rear ended. I haven't done much metal finishing with no filler in years, so I am practicing on these to get back into it in my spare time. I've got a little work area in my basement and I go down there when its quiet time. And yes, before anybody says anything I know I can get really nice new repros of these taillight surrounds for $30.
Lucas, your grille looks amazing! After you put the Caddy back together with that grille in place, I'm sure you'll throw wood! You'll never be able to park it and walk away from it without glancing back!
Looks good! As for those Ford tail light surrounds, I have to admire your tenacity and patience, those things are flimsy as all you-know-what and made from cheap anodized tin!
