As someone who lives in New England, I think that football is kinda a doomed sport anyhow unless the NFL address the lifelong player injuries. I bet the lawyers will take it out within the next 5-10 years tops.

the most damning piece of evidence I have seen so far. Passing and running the ball favors less inflated balls, kicking favors more inflated balls

Kickers have their own footballs to work with, separate from the rest. Until the NFL announces that they have dan good evidence everyone can just keep assuming. They win a lot so it's easy for people to hate them. People hated the Cowboys in the 90's and I know we hated the Yankees in the late 90's and early 2000's. Like Bill Parcels said and evertone seems to choose to forget about the whole spygate thing, "everybody does it, Bill just got caught". So all of these other coaches that kept saying that it was awful and wrong are hypocrites because they were just as guilty.

ya and oddly enough it was properly inflated unlike the quarterbacks balls. Im starting to think there is something to this story. What is your reference that the kickers ball is not part of the 12? Jay3000 says the kickers ball was ball 12 and was properly inflated to favor kicking. The other 11 were deflated to favor throwing and carrying. That is some strong circumstantial evidence right there.

I have read that the kicker's footballs are shipped straight from the manufacturer. They are not part of the 12.

Change the rule, the footballs are to be handled by the officials inflated by them and kept by them when not being used on the field. I agree lets move on and wheres the next auction, race, car show or swap meet

No, because what he did was against the rules.

The NFL rule is the balls have to be inspected by officials befor the game and they can't be tampered with after inspection. If you or anyone else can prove those two rules were violated, have at it.

They may not be able to prove that that the deflatriots removed air from the balls. However when 11 of 12 deflatriot balls were low while the Colts balls were all OK you have to wonder whats going on. Given the deflatriots record, If it looks like a duck, and walks like a duck.........

I cant prove that. Only circumstantial evidence which makes my suspicion reasonable.

Regarding Lance. Yes it was illlegal but since everyone else was doing it, it was fair, it was equal.

What record? Using ineligible receivers, which is completely legal? Recording practices, which was wrong and has been corrected 7 years ago? I get tired of people saying the Patriots have a record of cheating. That is crap. And by the way, many, many teams taped signals and practices. Because they did not get caught does not make them any less of a cheating team.

The Patriots are under a microscope because they are damn good, and they have been for 14 years straight.

I've still not seen any definitive report that the Colts balls were checked at half time but people still keep saying it like it's a fact. The talking heads at CNN were called out about it yesterday and all they said was they had "multiple reports from various sources" and that was as good as a confirmation to them. So as long as they hear the same fairy tale from a number of people, it's a fact I guess.

Lets see. Accused Murderers(Ray Lewis) get statues made of them. (I know about Hernandez he will get his). Ray Rice cold cocks his wife. Peterson whips his kid with a branch and we are worrying about frigging PSI in a ball? One or two PSI means nothing and you haters know it. Show me that every NFL game played this year or any year had perfectly inflated balls. It just is not paid that much attention to. It will be now. Better make sure your team has the correct length shoe laces.

Did anyone see the first skit on SNL last night? I'll give you one guess what it covered. Towards the end you might want to think about the movie "A Few Good Men".... :TU:

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

I still watch it. But after some of the skits, I wonder where the "funny" was. Still some good ones though.

Well, gotta go check ball pressure. Don't want my wife to accuse me of cheating.

Did Indy take the air out of the ball? Who really did it -- Read on

Over the past week, we have seen every major television network from ESPN to CNN trying to determine if people can tell the difference between a football that is inflated to 12.5 pounds per square inch (PSI) and one that has only 10.5 PSI of air pressure. Some can decipher between the two, others cant.

But if you handed someone a football with 12.5 PSI and one with 11.5 PSI, hardly anyone would notice a difference and thats when looking for one. Whats your point, Del?

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, 10 of the under-inflated game balls that the New England Patriots allegedly used in the AFC Championship Game were closer to one pound under 12.5 PSI. Chris Mortensen of ESPN reported last week that 11 of New Englands 12 balls were two PSI under the league requirement.

To make make matters more interesting, Florios source claims the only ball that came in two pounds under 12.5 PSI was the one that was intercepted by Indianapolis Colts linebacker DQwell Jackson and taken to the Indy sideline.

The difference between one pound and two pounds PSI would be very significant in this instance. Why? Because everyones favorite argument against the Patriots seems to be that there is no way weather conditions could account for a 2.0 PSI drop in air pressure inside a football. Im no scientist, but Im fairly confident that almost anything could account for a one-pound drop in a ball that is taken from indoors out into the elements.

You dont even need Bill Belichicks scientific investigation complete with a fantastic My Cousin Vinny reference to know that one pound of air pressure is negligible. Short of a video of someone sticking a needle into a football to deflate it, theres absolutely no way the NFL could prove that the Patriots intentionally took one pound of air pressure out of their game balls.

As we have said all along, the details are incredibly important. Thats why the NFL is taking its time. Initially, my gut reaction was that the more the NFL digs the worse off the Patriots will be. Given Florios latest report and what we shared with you about the guy who allegedly started the Deflategate investigation, Im not so sure that remains the case.
