Anybody out there have this? What did you do to fix it or at least relieve some of the pain. Got it in both arms, left is way better, but the right can't hardly even run the remote for the TV. Got to many things to do not use it.
    Thanks Rick

Epicondylitis is what we call it. Advil is good to calm the inflamation and the resulting pain.

If you are spending a LOT of time on the computer--STOP--limit yourself to a few minutes at the most!
Mine was computer related and getting OFF the computer SOLVED mine. A
wrist brace might also help.Everyone's situation is different but that was
the first thing out of my Doctor's mouth--"How much time are you on the
    computer?" Pete

I used to have it in my right arm from nail guns, hammers, and drills. I would take advil then use heat on it for 15 min. deep massage then ice it down and sometimes wrap it. Worked great for me.

In most cases this type of inflammation occurs due to an alignment issue. Your elbow became "subluxated" after carrying something heavy or maybe falling on out-stretched arms...any number of things could have happened to cause the PROBLEM.

Now your SYMPTOM is quite evident due to repetitive use. It's like hitting a "pot-hole" with your Buick. You might not know you knocked the front end out of alignment for a long time. Then one day you bend down to shine up those road wheels and you see your tire wearing the edge off. So what do you do? Put Armour-All on it to cover it up? NO! You go get the front end aligned and monitor it to make sure it is correct.

I would look for a DC or DO in your area trained in extremity manipulation. If there is a PT in your area that works with athletes, that person might be a big help as well.

Anti inflammatory drugs can/will mask your symptoms but they will not fix your problem. Not only that, research is showing that even OTC meds / pain-killers are being linked to liver and kidney disease, especially the chronic use of such meds.

Good Luck! I know how much this hurts. I've seen many patients with this problem and have had great success fixing it (even after the patient tried everything else first including injections!)

Thanks for the info guys. Kimson I have glasses for that:TU: . I have been putting in guardrail for our drag strip and tamping in the posts. Thats why both elbows are acting up. The computer/mouse thing seems to be also a painful area. Doc I will persue your suggestions also. Thanks for the info.
    Painfully yours

    If athletes get Athletes Foot,
and tennis players get Tennis Elbow...
    what do astronauts get?

At the "club",a fellow stubs his toe on the putting green, walking with a severe limp passes a table where 2 high society ladies are drinking mint juleps The ladies are staring at his bulging shorts when one cries, you poor man . He replies, their golf balls and keeps walking. She says to her friend, Ive got tennis elbow but they never swelled like that. :Dou:

I will second what DOC said and add transverse friction rub and some BIOFREEZE.

Resurrecting this thread because I have had tennis elbow in my right arm for about a year. I couldn't do anything without feeling burning pain. I was sent for an MRI after injections did not quiet it down and it was found I have a significant tear in the lateral epicondyle tendon. My Doctor is suggesting surgery. Has anyone had this surgery and if so, would you elaborate on your experience?

What does that procedure do for the tendon tear? Is it simply pain relief?

I thought I was going to have to learn to play tennis left handed. Went to Physical Therapy with big doubts. It worked brilliantly.
