pins 85,86 can go either way and are completely interchangeable, 1 of them needs to see trigger......the trigger can be either power or ground.......the other pin needs to see which ever the other the trigger didn't supply.

pins 87 and 30 are also interchangeable, either can be power supply or power source. or if you wanted your relay to supply ground you could do it that way too

Another way to state it is 85 and 86 are the relay coil. Power goes to 87. 30 is ware you connect your load. 87a is hot in standby, contacts open, coil not energized. When contacts are closed, coil energized, 30 becomes hot and 87a becomes not energized. That's if your relay has a pin at 87a, many don't. Its always best to put the load at pin 30.
You can use the foot kick down switch to energizer the coil of the relay no problem, the relay coil draws very little amperage. The source for your pusher pump will go to 87, pin 30 is ware the pump positive will connect to. The pump will draw all its amperage from whatever your source pin 87 is connected to. In Larrys relay pic up there just visualize your foot switch as the toggle switch.

But having a pump in line at the tank will be a restriction if its not running. You would need a tee before and after the pump, And then you would just connect a fuel line tee to tee. So when pump is off fuel will flow through the tee bypassing the pump. At some point you might just say to hell with looking stock and jumping through hoops to keep it looking stock. I would call it looking professionally performance minded in a mechanically optimized sound manor, And run an electric pump, fuel filtered, oil filled sight glass psi gauge, regulated return system, with an oil pressure safety cut off or ign safty cut off switched system.
