Pat, did you get a picture of you, the GSX owner and the block/transmission? I hope so as this story well represents the experience most of us have in the Buick community!
Great job Pat , may you be blessed by the Buick Gods down the road. There is another guy who could use the original 350 engine for a GSX on another thread !!! lol
Actually here is a picture of Bob when I informed him of his purchase. He was thrilled to say the least. The car could not have went to a better home. Thanks Pat. And a warm welcome once again to Bob. John Usinger
I know this is an old thread. This video came up on my Youtube feed. Has a shout out to Pat about the original engine.
Jeez I'm blushing..lol That car should have been in my garage, but I am ecstatic that Bob has it and it's currently being re-restored by another member. I guarantee it's well cared for and done right. Bob,by the way is a heck of a good guy and someone I am proud to call my friend! It was just fate that I still had both the motor and transmission considering at one time there were 17 transmissions and 10 motors in mom's barn.
Pat, Your the man now go check those other 10 motors and make sure that mine is not there.....LOL So a very rare car get reunited with correct drivetrain, very cool! I would think a 71 GSX & 350 has to be very limited.
Yup, Pat is a good guy for sure and embodies what the hobby should be all about (as do you Dave considering all the help on @Ryans-GSX show car).
Yes, Thank You from me as well.. The deal with the drivetrain worked out in the end.. Like I said, I have a new good friend out of the deal! I am hoping that I can have a similar thing happen to me with my GSX project one day before I croak...Who knows??? It may happen one day in the future!
