It's the best $12 you'll ever spend on your car

I wish....The tape was $25...All good. Far less than new ones.

    Exactly!

There's a good 8-10 hours of sweat equity into mine but I'd do it again.

I have a few here to play with. Maybe I'll do a video for my YouTube page this spring.

A good portion (if not all) of these are flash chrome plated. So there is only so much polishing you can do on them before you just have to remove the chrome and polish the stainless. I have bought a half dozen sets of aftermarket moldings because I absolutely hate restoring these.

I'm going to re-shine mine with some stuff I bought at Carlisle. It takes all that nastiness off of Draglites like magic, so I use it on the rocker moldings as well.. I will be painting my stripes green instead of red to match the body color..

If you do try to polish them, you really need to be careful as they can warp from the heat of the wheel if you get too aggressive.... Ask me how I know!!

I use tape too for the lines. I get mine from the local Auto Trim Line guy.

Any trick on removing them. I see the screw but the clips behind, do i just pull on them?

You remove the 1/4"? screws along the underside, then lift straight up on the molding. The top edge of the molding hooks onto the round clips. Very easy to remove.

IIRC, the front has a metal bracket, but it functions the same as the round clip, the top of the rocker molding engages the same way. Just pull the bottom of the rocker molding out just a tad, and tap it up gently.

I think Mike just does the metal strips. Todd will have the remainder of the hardware.
