I tend to agree with you so long as the overall "value" decreases as the original parts decrease...

I remember this car VIVIDLY when Scott had it for sale here on this board many years ago! The gold cad on the shifter rods, how clean the underside of the car looked. I remember the discussion as it was a documented Stage 1 solid white car, and Scott discussing the 4 speed conversion.
As CJP69 stated, he purchased it from Scott, then Mark from CJP, then Mark saying it was difficult on his knee (CJP- or was that the red 68?) or it just wasn't his cup of tea so he sold it.
Point being it IS a real GS 455 with the factory stage 1 option... Even if it has none of the original drivetrain left... It's still a real, documented Stage 1..

That car is here in MA, about an hour from me and I've seen it a few shows & cruise nights the last couple years.

I do agree, A non-numbers matching stage 1 or Numbers with original drivetrain removed is a great car to have you can go out and thrash on it and don’t I have to worry about something terribly going wrong. As far as a stage 1 with a different manufacturer Drive train that’s a different story.

Now that it's about 97% sorted out, I'm looking forward to flogging the hell out of it. Or taking it through its paces, however you wanna say it.

That is what I say as well. You can drive and enjoy and not be so worried about it. Mine is a non numbers matching Stage 1. It has a 3:73 12 bolt as well and will put you back in the seat! Enjoy them!

Pay less attention to the highlighted wholesale order form, it is only to reference the actual documented options on the code sheet. Sloan lists the options in the "OPTIONS AND ACCESSORIES" column on the important sheet. (Area outlined in red in this attached image). The highlighted wholesale order form is so these codes can be cross referenced to the recorded data. A-1 = Stage 1 option. stage1proof_Mod.JPG
