On this document from the Sloan Museum, under"Accessories and Options", does the A1 denote Stage 1? Appreciate your help!
So, I would still need to check with Sloan to verify that is actually their document to be sure? Did build sheets back then have yellow highlighters designating the options or would that be a modern day reproduction?

I would be more concerned with the stampings on the block and the transmission, rear, carburetor, distributor. If the original drivetrain is gone than price the car accordingly. As a well-noon GS restore would say it’s just a Skylark now.
That's the way I think too, but this "born on" crowd seems to keep the prices jacked up beyond belief. The above car in question has no numbers left as it's GS455 drivetrain was swapped for an Oldsmobile setup. The only inkling of a Stage 1 is the old (copied) Sloan paper. Being sold as Stage 1 and wants mega bucks (in iffy condition; ex: rebuilt instead of replaced steering pump, wouldn't fix cig lighter, clock, etc.). Just saw another '70 GS350 for sale for $55K. Drivetrain swapped with something exotic/column shift 4 speed, new suspension and an inch of poly on the paint; what a waste...
Build sheets, no. Sloan documents, yes. The Sloan report I had done in 2002 for my old '72 Stage 1 4-speed had yellow highlighter in different spots on the car order form that came with the report.
If you're really interested in the car in question, call Sloan and get another report. It'll most likely be the same thing.
I wouldn’t waste my time with that car unless you have a 455 and turbo 400 transmission ready to go. It’s definitely just a Skylark now. Unless the price was right and the condition. As far as the GS 350 for 55K they will only get close to that with a uninformed buyer.
Hell he just missed out on a real deal stage one with plenty of paperwork and matching numbers for 49K.
It is a real Stage 1 factory automatic, I used to own 15+ years ago. None of the original running gear is left.
The car that Sloan Doc belongs to definitely doesn't have an Olds drivetrain. IMHO, orig. drivetrain or not, the car is what was as it was born (& valued accordingly based on drivetrain/sheetmetal originality) but others feel differently & are welcome to their opinions.
Even without original drive train you can verify the vin on frame and body. Sure get and better deal then NM but still a Stage 1 Car. What about the rear axle?
