That thing looks like the cheap ass China RC trucks from the swap meet from the late 80s and early 90s the cool RC trucks had some blue body and some neon green and pink strips and a swoosh down the side......

LOL, I was waiting for someone to post this. I'm a big fan of electric vehicles, but this is like they were trying to make the thing a flop. I know I've seen this design in any number of 80's sci-fi flicks.

looks like they didn't want to spend any money on tooling the bodywork. You could make that thing at home with a brake press and a stack of sheet metal.
