I calculate that if I leave 1st thing this Saturday (with favorable winds : ) that I should arrive at the Nats on time in May.

This is my other “enclosed option” but I haven’t factored in the sets of wipers & washer fluid yet

Not really my style but I think I will also review the statutes along the route of how much gas we are now legally able to steal in case I get a wild hair and go all Judas Priest to drive an internal combustion option.

Yes, profits are a %. If your raw materials go up & you mark them up using the same margin, you make more $. The oil companies' margins are decent but nothing like Big Pharma if you want to demonize an industry.

I believe other people just explained to me that big oil is not a non-profit, big oil deserves to make money, etc., etc.

So by that logic, good for Big Pharma! Charge whatever you can get people to pay!

I considered that, lol. Get a month gym membership to shower & work out. I sleep well in my car actually. I'd make a good homeless person.

That seems to be Big Pharma's MO - Indiscriminately raise prices & suffer or die if you can't pay.

    That's a good idea.
If I ride the fat tire ebike, I get 40 miles per 6 hr charge. 25 mph, 512 miles, take me abot 6 days. So I guess I'd be sleeping on someone's porch for 6 hrs while I'm plugged into their electric.
Seems like an inconvenience to me.
I just don't know about this going green crap.:D:D

Going to start biking to work again next week. I've been doing it on and off for two years and it is only five miles each way.

When are the cruise ships you work on going to go green?

New cruise ships tend to be shifting to LNG, hybrid drives, biofuels, etc. Most are reducing use of HFO and using cleaner MDO. Some are eliminating single-use plastics entirely. Some are improving waste-heat regeneration to improve overall efficiency. There is a lot going on.

The pandemic also accelerated disposition / scrapping of older, less efficient vessels from major fleets.

Whatever their motivation, they are at least doing what they can.

1.89 litre for premium here so 7.14/US gallon (or 8.58 imperial gallon) here in Calgary, AB. I don't worry about US price conversion since I work, live, pay taxes and buy with our dollars. It's high but won't change anything for me, don't get to drive them as much as I would like anyway. Gas at 15.00 a gallon I'll still be out there...worth every penny for the laughs/memories these things bring. Just to really add insult, I can remember back in the late 80's when I worked at a gas station as a teenager and we had gas wars once in a while filling the Stage 1 with premium was 22 cent s a litre...not sure if its the price or how old I am that makes me wince...LOL :)
