silly putty I own a carpet cleaning business. Just use mineral spirits and then wash that out with some DISH WASHER NOT DISH WASHING DETERGENT mixed 1 teaspoon to 2 cups hot water and sponge the mineral spirits out. Do not saturate the carpet with the mineral spirits or any solvent based cleaner as you will delaminate the carpet and it will come apart. To get ink or paint out use MEK solvent again sparingly so as not to delaminate the carpet. Neither will bleach or change the color of the carpet.
