Guess I didn't take one after the front clip was back on. That's the homemade dual snorkel air claeaner I made many years ago.
Some of you aren't going to like seeing a stock small block with a lot of accessories in a stock environment but here is a 67 engine bay.............
Hey! someone stole yer Buick motor and replaced it with a chebby! Hunt the SOB down and hang him high!!!! :ball:
I've got a set of chrome Stage 1 valve covers that'll go on sometime next season. I'd also like to ditch that pink heater hose:
Hey John Thanks. I used same block and cam (288 92H), .040 JE pistons, TA timing cover setup by Gessler, Eddy level 2 heads by Gessler, JW performer intake via Mike "protour GSX", Holley 830HP, MSD iginition, low compression street car (pro charger some day:Brow: ) made 483hp 537trq
Compared to some of these pictures, mine looks like a basket case. The first picture is from 1989 shortly after I got the car. The next two are either 1990 or 1991, after I twisted the crank. I'd just rebuilt the engine, cleaned up the bay all pretty, and dropped it back in. The next one is 20 years later (2009), after the car had been hit and ended up sitting 13 years. I started stripping the car shortly after this picture was taken. The last one is shortly after I stripped the "old" car, pulled the motor and dropped it into the "new" car. Note the improvised "Git-R-Done" wiring. I'll post a more current one soon.
Good catch :TU: That botton comes in pretty handy for adjusting the valves but it can also be a life saver. Earlier this year I had what I thought was an ignition switch problem. I had power in the on position but when I turned the key I had nothing. No problem, just open the hood and start the car. It turned out to be the console harness to the neutral safety switch.
This is as good as mines gonna get untill I replace the motor with a new 500HP 430 sometime in the distant future. All the crap on the fire wall needed to work the Auto Climate Control makes it look cluttered and messed up. Really dont like it but theres not much I can do about it.
Here is a picture before the accident and know its out and waiting for a 200r4 transplant. The air is the only thing I can get to fit under the hood.
Wow...very nice pro tour gsx! I like it a lot, very clean and all business. First class all the way. John:TU:
I think I am going to stray from the stock look and put on a set of '68/69 chrome valve covers this year.
Here's a couple with the engine just set in. It's gonna come back out yet before all the goodies get put on it.
Nothing spectacular, like some posted, just clean, with a gloss black finish instead of the factory dull black. :TU:
