The headers have 2-1/8" primary tubes and are just leftovers from when this car had a 528 ci engine with 14:1 compression a long time ago. The engine in the photos now is a much milder aluminum-rod 462 with 12.5:1 compression ratio. This car will soon have a much weaker 470 ci. engine that is pump gas friendly with a 10.5:1 compression ratio. I'm thinking about ditching the 1050 carb and converting to EFI as well.
Top one in BQUICK since 2003 (best 9.96 at 3700lbs), bottom in JAGUICK since 2014 (best 9.71 at 3300lbs). Tons of runs......
My "Mostly Correct" 1970 GS455. Early, Sept 1969 build, with clear overflow and plastic radiator cover.
Real quick story that I will mention later to how I got it. Back around 1979 or 80 The Buick Motor Division sent me a 8 x 11 black glossy of the back of 1967 GS400 on the GM proving grounds with a model leaning on the side! I had a psycho ex girlfriend that threw the pic and other goodies away just because she new I liked them
