What do I do with the intake?

  1. Stop whining and make the Poston work

    27.9%
  2. Sell the Poston and use the money for headers

    23.5%
  3. Go back to stock for now and try the Poston again later

    1.5%
  4. Go back to stock for now and try a B4B or TA later

Possibly leaking from the corner of the intake. Did you use any RTV along the front rail and in the corner? Could also be leaking past the distributor O ring.

I cleaned up the puddle on the timing chain cover this morning. It actually appears to just be water with a little dirt and grime mixed in. The drops on top of the intake are definitely oil.

I know I put RTV under the front rubber seal, layed it down then put a bead on top of the rubber seal. I think I got it in the corners but I can't remember. Is the rail and the seal the same thing we are talking about?

When I use the front, and rear rubber seals, I just use a little RTV in the corners where the seal tucks under the head. No need for more. If you don't use the seals, you run a bead across the rail. i wouldn't worry about it. Don't know where the oil on top of the manifold could come from. Probably blown there

Maybe it was blown up there because I was following too close to a Camaro.

He was probably dropping oil and I sucked it up.

Or you could have been following my Skylark around. You should see what happens when you run a GS hood and it rains. The front cover acts as a rain gauge and fills up, which at least proves that the gaskets in that area don't leak.

    I think
we sometimes don't give the ORIGINAL Buick engineers their do respect---I
firmly believe that a street car going to the track occasionally is far better
off with the stock manifold. Pete

I haven't visited this thread in a while. I did eventually go back to a stock intake because I sold the Poston to buy other things I needed. Unfortunately, I still don't have headers.
