Maybe I'm nit-picky, but if you do all that work and spend all the money to get it to that point, why not replace the ratty-a$$ed rear interior panels and leave that ancient radial BFG TA spare tire? Wouldn't have hurt to try and find a better jack base either. o No:
I like it (X theme) on a 68 Chevelle better than a 68-69 Buick though. I like the way the rear spoiler fits this car..But like Tim said,,Why not replace the ratty interior pieces and jack base? Not like there aren't dozens of Chevelle repro companies available, unlike the Buicks of the same year..
Now that's funny right there,I don't care who you are  I would not let a friend drive that hideous thing.
Concours: an elegant gathering of vehicles, usually in a park or lawn atmosphere. Typically used to describe the highest quality restoration, one that can be inspected with white gloves and still come away clean.
Actually the car is a Concours model, look on the front fender and you can see the factory emblem that Chevy used. This was an actual Chevelle model in 1968, just not many pf them around today.
I've got to agree here. If you go to all that work and spend all that money to make a car nice, why would you put one of the worst Chevy motors made back into it? If you were going for a stock restoration it would be fine, but since they have chosen to aspire to be Buick like, why not put a Buick motor in it? or at the least instead of rebuilding the 307 put a 327 or a 350 in it? Driving that would be like dating a pretty girl that can't even feed herself without help.
Ah. Makes sense now. I had no idea there was a Concours model. I seen them emblem, but didn't know if the owner put it on himself or what. Thanks.
While I dearly love the Yellow/Black scheme on a 70 GSX, for me this Chevelle just doesn't look right with it. Perhaps my preference for stock style paint on any given car is coloring (pun intended) my view but this car doesn't quite pull off this paint job.
