Before the board went down I asked comments to this here beauty. I found it in this here thread http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?p=515519 which now is all gone (and what a crying shame, there where so many wonderful old photos in that thread !)

Has anyone seen more examples of this fantastic conversion ?

Sorry, I dont know who posted the original picture, but I hope it's alright that I re-post it now !?

    Yep

I remember the thread. I'd love to own that car, and I think it is in the Penn or Maryland area. :TU: I'd dump my GS for that car. :Smarty:

No, I haven't seen any picts of others, but some people did say there are a few out there. :Do No:

I love that convertible! If you've ever seen the convertible version of the final Riviera, also very nice. They shoud've been built!

I am down! The car looks great!

I was wondering why there were no Rivi convertibles from the factory for the 60's and 70's?

The top is from a 64-65 Skylark with mods. With the top up, the roof line is lower then the orig 65 Riv metal roof and the rear window angles more.
    65 Rivieras are 2" longer than the 65 Skylark, I think 204" against 202".

Model year 1965 Riviera is 209 inches, a 2 drs Skylark from the same year is 203.2 inches :Smarty:

    I think the top was from a 66 Skylark, not a 64/65.

Those other pictures, are the ones from the "Len Immke Racecar Collection", if I'm not mistaken. That thread was chopped in half when the board went down, maybe we should bring it up to date again ?
