I will be bringing the prototype tank to the Buick/Ford shootout at Noble, OK this weekend. Stop by and take a look. Nice piece, good quality.

Be patient, the final product is just around the corner.

So far,the coolant tanks that Frank made look very good and are made very well. He brought several to show to us when we had our Buick Regional meet in Cecil County,Md. Good Job,Frank!:TU:

I saw the prototype that John Schmidt has and it is superb. I, for one, have never seen a new/NOS tank up close....and when I saw this one fresh out of the mold, it was a shocker.

Small color issue, but it is being resolved.

I just wish the big cars would get this kind of attention:Brow: Lord knows it's near impossible to find an NOS tank for a big car.

But I know who has one.......

    Hey Bruuuuuuuuce!!!

In case you haven't heard yet, Al's tanks are a dead issue. He will not be going foward with it. If you want one get with Frank. So far price seems to be $149 + shipping.

  10. This information was posted to the BPC email list last night by "Barry" who I am not familiar with. To my knowledge, Alan has not posted this info yet, but Barry stated that Alan told this to him personally, so it sounds final.

That's where I got my info. I haven't talked to Alan because he is hard to get a hold of.

Yup, that's what he (Alan) said. I didn't post that info here because I thought that since he had been speaking for himself in this forum, I didn't want to make an announcement about something that was his concern. He said he will be contacting everyone that had signed up with him to explain what has happened.

Whats the Deal. I give this guy my credit card number up front with no proto-type and he continues to say he is going ahead with the project. Then he does not even have the common curtesy to post a message on this board that he has cancelled the project. The same board that he came to and asked people to put money up front on. I believe that is very rude. If it is just a hoax and he is still going through with it then I apologize to him but would be really :af: at someone for spreading a rumor as the truth.

Alan really needs to come on this board and make an announcement. He found the time to make an announcement when he wanted my money. I think he can spare a couple minutes to post a message or send an email to verify the truth.

If you are too busy to take care of your customers, then you will not have to worry about taking care of them for long because you won't have any to take care of.

Either way, I will not be getting this part from Alan. I will be getting it from Frank. I have had enough of not getting updates.

I fully understand that making parts is not easy and we need to support these guys because they are far and few between but I also believe the anyone wishing to sell a part to a group of people, especially when they ask for money up front, should let their customers know what is going on.

  14. Hey Mark, cool the jets a little...

Alan did not take money from anyone up front. No one's credit card has been charged for the orders we placed several months ago. We only had to provide our CC #'s to make them firm comittments so Alan knew he had good orders, not just "yeah, I want one of those"...

However, I do agree with you 100% that communication has been poor.

All I know is Frank came to Cecil County Dragway and showed us all his prototypes-so far everything looked good. Frank assured us that the color would be taken care of (the tanks were light gray instead of the usual off clear color).Otherwise it's a go.
Frank certainly has spent the $$$$ and the time to get these right.Way to go,Frank!:TU:

  16. Re: Way to go Mark !!

Matt, I don't disagree that Alan's handling of his project left much to be desired in the way of customer communication, but for anyone to state that he took our money up front is completely inaccurate. To my knowledge, not a single customer's credit card was ever charged a dime. I know mine has not been, as I watched for it every statement.

Alan did what he could to bring these coolant tanks to market. It's unfortunate that his situation required minimum orders placed in order for it to happen, but I don't think we can fault his effort to try to do this for the Buick community. Frank obviously had the advantage of sufficient financial backing to go into production without commitments to buy from anyone. Talk about an ideal situation! We could only be so lucky to find that situation with repro grilles....

My hat's off to Frank for getting these tanks made, and to Alan for his efforts to try to do the same.

    David,

I apologize if my post was misleading. I did not say that he took money up front. I only said that he took my credit card number and asked for money up front. What I meant by that was he wanted a solid commitment of my money and if the deal went through I would be paying for the product before it was recieved and even before I got to see the product, which I gave him.

Alan wrote in his first post

"Payment Full payment for the reservoir is required up front. This is because the manufacturer is requiring us to pay the full $35,000 production costs up front. "

He has never taken any money or charged anything to my credit card but I still have a commitment to him for this money which I have to be prepared to give him at any time. This means the money I have, has been commited and now I am being told that it may or may not be commited. There are other things I can spend this money on if he is not going to be able to completed this project. I think it is only fair that he let me know either way.

    I disagree with you David.

I think EVERYONE that had GIVEN their CC# deserves to be told ONE way or the other! :af: I have had MANY dealings with Alan in the past and NEVER had a problem.:TU:

That being said, I don't know if I will ever deal with him again.:Do No:

It would ONLY take 5 MINUTES TO LET US KNOW ONE WAY OR THE OTHER!!!:stmad:

Why is that difficult?:puzzled:  :Do No:

  19. Very good points, Mark and Dan. You are right, if Alan's project had been able to go forward, we would have been paying up front. At the time, no one else was trying to make these tanks, so that was just one of the conditions we had to accept. I was also not pleased to have the dollars commited to Alan, not knowing when or if they would be used.

It has only been a couple of days since Barry posted his info on the BPC email list, and perhaps Alan should not have leaked it out to just one individual, before notifying all at the same time. I emailed Alan just a week or 2 ago, and have also not received a reply.

As things stand, Frank has just emailed me that he is not accepting orders or money yet, as he does not yet have product to ship. When he has finished tanks, he will begin taking orders. Hopefully Alan will have posted himself before that time, and let us know exactly what has happened with his project.

Mark, I apologize if it seemed I was jumping you over my interpretation of what you stated. You spoke accurately, I misinterpreted...

I emailed him nearly 2 months ago!

When there was a NOS tank on ebay. I was thinking about bidding, but as of today, still no response.

I just want to hear him say he will NOT be charging our cc., and he will NOT be reproducing them.:gt: This is almost as bad as the guy that is supposed to be doing my GS's body(2.4 yrs, nothing to show).:stmad::ball:

Mark Reeves, I'll be giving you a call soon.:)
