Coolant Tanks Sorry to be so late in posting an update. I've responded to those who take the time to email me. I just don't have time to peruse and post on these boards anymore. Checking email is all the time I pretty much have with new baby and other irons in the fire. Here's the update. I am ready to go to full production on these with first shipments arriving in 60 days. I have to order a minimum of 250 of these to get them done. The pricing has dropped now as a result of ordering that many to $179.00. This includes lid and tank. I don't know Frank and he is doing his project on his own. Many of your guys do know me and what I stand for. You've seen my other products at the Nationals and the lengths I go to for Buicks. I do think that concerns about several people making the same part are valid. Yes, there's competion but when the market isn't really big enough for 1 maker, then 2 only results in each being hurt. These will be a GM Licensed restoration part. I hope Frank has taken the time to cross that bridge.....we have. GM has licensed us to make these tanks. I wish Frank would have worked with me on this instead of independently so that we would not be trying to divide the market to cover the manufacturing costs of these items (assuming he gets GM's permission to make them). I would gladly have taken on a partner in this project to get it done. So far, I've got about 21 orders for tanks. Lots of people said they were interested, but few have actually done anything about it. 21 is pretty pathetic when you consider how many people say they need these. Like I said, the more of these I sell, the lower the price will go. Conceivably, the price could be as low as $129.95 per bottle/lid, but I need more orders (FIRM ORDERS and not just.....yeah I want one) to make it happen. I love you guys, but I'm not willing to put my house at risk to make a part that I don't have commitments for. My family is too important to jeapordize for this and I am not a wealthy guy with lots of excess money laying around to do it. Family and work consume my days. One more thing to consider, I've now found a company that is willing to do parts on a small number basis. They can pretty much do any plastic part, including FAN SHROUDS, and are the lowest in cost of any company I've worked with. However, they only want to do 1 piece at a time to make sure they don't have any flops. I'm not here to do just 1 piece. I'm here to do one piece...use that money to do the next piece......use that money to do the next piece.....and so on. All pieces MUST be GM Licensed for me to do it. I don't want or need the General coming after me. I've heard about them going after some of the guys on the TB.com board and its not pretty. Thanks, Alan

Tank orders Actually, David, its worse than that. That's the number of tanks. Several people signed up for more than one. So, the total # of orders is less than 21......just they add up to 21 tanks. None have been charged yet. I just need firm commitments for orders. Without a certain number of orders, the cost of making them comes out of my pocket and I don't have that much. BTW, I've attached a pic of the newest Buick family member and more personally, the newest Faircloth family member. I've already been teaching him Buick facts and figures. Interestingly, he smiles when I say "455 Big Block", remains calm when I say "350 Buick GS", but starts crying when I say "Chevy 454" .....LOL Thanks, Alan

Re: Where Have I been? Troy, It is not too late. I am working on a wholesale deal of these GM Licensed coolant tanks to a third party vendor. What does this mean for you the buyers......LOWER $$$$. As more sale, the price keeps dropping. Assuming this deal goes through as planned, we are looking at a price of around $150 (This is not firm yet). Like I said earlier, if I can get 200 of the coolant tanks sold, we are looking at a price of $129.95 (tank and lid). And this is for one LICENSED by GM. My new manufacturer has advised me just this morning that they are fairly confident that they can replicate everything about the tank EXACTLY. I was able to obtain all the blueprints and some CAD design info from GM by having these tanks licensed. To the list: IF you are seriously interested in one of these tanks and will commit and follow through on buying one (or however many you need), PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL to alan@carmotorsports.com. I need to know exactly how many of these I can sell so I can get final pricing (it will only go down). ALL I NEED is for you to provide Name, Address, Phone, Email address, and Quantity. Its my belief that if you provide that much information, you are seriously interested purchaser, which is what I need - FIRM commitments. CLEAR TOP UPDATE Well, its been officially confirmed by my manufacturer that they will be able to make the clear tops with no problem (and NO difference in price). The tops will be exactly the same as the black lids, only they will be clear. I am looking at a quantity of 50 of the clear lids/tanks and 200 of the black lids/tanks. Its important to let me know how many of which type is needed so I can adjust the order accordingly. So, if you previously contacted me about a tank and did not specify clear or black.......please update your request with that information. Those who do not specify clear, will be presumed to want Black. Clearly, the black lids were far more predominant than clear. Because of the 250 minimum order from the manufacturer, it may be some time before another order is placed and I want to make sure I cover everyone's needs. Thanks to all who have emailed me thus far. The responses are now for some reason really starting to grow. I've put myself down for 3 tanks for my 3 cars. Alan
