removing glove box door lock ?

    My lock works fine but the whole assembly seems loose in the glove box door. Is there any way to tighten it up?

    Mike, you need to remove the tumbler, then you will see a large allen key hole that is used to tighten the front and rear parts of the lock to the glovebox door (the tumbler actually goes into that allen shaped hole).

    Sometimes the chrome knob actually comes off the assembly..not much you can do there, its swaged on.

    Here is Tim's pic, with an arrow showing the nut that holds the housing in place on the door.

    We see this a lot, and tighten these up as a little free "extra" even on stuff like engine jobs.. Pretty common.
