Ken, I was referring to the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500. 14 and 15 inch. Last set I bought were 255-60-15's(closest size to a G60-15,another arguement I'm sure) $500 mounted and balanced. To the person(s) tire shopping........ I have two GS Buicks in the garage, both have nearly brand new BFG's, and both cars will be getting Firestone's in the spring, and these JUNK BFG's will be the last I have purchased. Yes, I agree the lettering on the BFG's look nice, but that is where the comparison stops, and the Firestones WIN in every other catagory. I'm not just voicing my opinion, I have owned both brands of tires, and the Firestones are better tires, sorry, but truth sometimes hurtso No: If all you care about is looks, then by all means, get yourself some BFG's. BFG's will really impress your friends too, as you will be able to do a burnout all the way through 3rd gear, while the guy with Firestones hooked and booked in 1st and left you sitting in your BFG rubber smoke:Smarty: Peace out
In your Buick's case I would say the car makes the tires not the other way around. Man what a beautiful car.:TU: Bob H.
They are to be considered for sure. I have open diff and 3.08's and I can do the one wheel peel for the entire quarter mile if I so chose. The traction or lack thereof is absolutely pathetic on the BFG's, I will admit that. I do like the look, but if I plan to do anything more than a gradual roll out of the lights I have to do something about the tires. At least the rear.
What about cooper cobras? I have a 15 year old set on the front of my car:eek2: (Don't worry, I am getting new tires for Christmas:TU: )
I think the Firestones are pretty good. I have them on my '72 Skylark they feel and look good. I run them on craiger pro stars 235/60/15 front and 275/60/15 in rear.
