:Smarty: Nothing looks better than G60-15-goodyears on the 70-72 cars...And it should be called foul if anything else but Radial T/A's are used on your GS.

    open letter tires suck...:moonu:

While I agree about the open letter tire thingy, for me only the original Polyglas GT's will work....

Growing up in the 70's and early 80's I have to say that a 60's or early 70's muscle car does look at it's best sitting on Radial T/A tires!
After market rims....... Got to go with the Cragar SS mags!

If you were the dude in those times, that's what your car was sitting on!

Sleeper dress. Black steel wheels. Blackwall tires, (wide ovals w/white letters turned inside) and dog dish caps.

I agree, I had a set of Goodyear ST radials with the solid letters, they looked good till one blew out. I now have the BF Goodrich Radial TA in the solid letters, they look much better than the raised white outline letters on the GS's

On an all out resto the repo Goodyears are the way to go. If you want to drive then an extra set of BFG's or some blackwall's are the best. I remember driving with those Goodyears on my car and it followed every crack in the road. Radials made all the difference.

Not that big a fan. I like drag radials. Can't see the white letters through the tire smoke anyway.:bla:

A friend of mine totaled his '70 GS Stage 1 ht back in 1979 . He blamed the poly tires,... he said if he had radials accident wouldn't have happen. I wasn't with him so that's just his take on it. Throw some driver error as he was young also.

If you like outdated tire technology (not in a good way) get the Radial T/As, but if you want a tire that looks just as good but is a MUCH better tire get Firestone Indy 500s.:TU:

If you think Radial T/A's are outdated, I wont ask what you think about Polyglas's!

On my car, the tires and the driver are outdated

Polygas have their place, on a trailer queen. For a driver why bother?

    BFG's are spin-happy pieces of 5hit.

Night and Day,Black and White,Male/Female, no comparison. BFG=JUNK:Smarty:

Goodyear Polyglas just look RIGHT! What else can you say?
However, the places like Kelsey Tire and Coker that make the repro tire's need to put down the crack pipe,Way overpriced.
Musclecar values dropped, and so should the cost of these stupid tires.
If they're sales have dropped, maybe they should ask themselves if it's due to their blatant gouging on price?????

I agree Tom. The prices are nuts for the Polys. What are they up to these days. Last time I checked they were like $260 a piece.

I will NEVER buy another Firestone, Bridgestone tire, I've had 3 different sets, including the ones on our current car and they are CRAP. Michelins on the driver and T/A's on the Riv.
