No sweat Paul. I should be able to burn it and mail it this weekend. I bought the album right after it came out in '76. This show was just days before he appeared on the covers of both Time and Newsweek. Wore the grooves right off that platter. The sound is just horrible, but I don't care. He controls his band with such skill! They do almost no song the way it was done on record. The E Street Shuffle is a very slow smokin piece that builds into a guitar ferocious screaming duel with Bruce and Miami Steve. But for me the real gem is that nearly a capella version of Thunder Road. Just him on the piano and the tempo is v e r y s l o w. Just an awesome redition. He does "And then (s)he kissed me", an old Ronnie Spector tune, and "Every time that you walk in the room" - an old Searchers tune. Just ignore the terrible sound and focus on the performance of a band just a week away from becoming absolute superstars. Do you have the Capitol Theatre '78 show? Again, just killer. Darkness tour. The consummate version of backstreets. Just unreal.
Yardley, i have the Cap Theatre in NJ from 78 on cassette. But, it's in the car in storage. If you can burn the disc and wait till spring, I'll get the cassette out and mail it as soon as the car gets outta storage. Paul
Paul, Not sure why you'd want to send me a cassette??? But I'll burn all 5 discs for you. (Cap Theatre is 3 discs!)
This is a friend's '02 Z06 with heads/cam and stock 346 ci bottom end. 60' time is usually 1.43 - 1.45 and he drives it over an hour to the track.
My wife took this one at Asakusa on our trip to Tokyo last year. Completely natural lighting, the sun was in just the right place. We took about 500 pictures on that trip, but this was her favorite of all of the ones she took. - Freed
Artie....that Vettes pretty quick but I can and have driven an hour to a track and have run 9.96, 1.37 60 ft. but usually low to mid tens with stock bottom end (stock rods/crank) But I don't have AC! Had to chime in since this IS a Buick website! Bruce
Paul, I'll ship out the Bottom Line show. It is just so awesome. In fact, a few years ago Rolling Stone did a thing on the top 10 or 20 live shows of "All Time" and this show was on it. PM me your address. And if you want the Capitol Theatre show on CD just let me know.
here's a pic I took on a vacation. It was the best pic I took and a total accident that it came out so great!
I snapped this one moments later to try to capture an additional shot of the beautiful scene, but some @$$hole had to jump in front of the camera. Honestly! And they say the French are rude!
