Looks great, Marc. Thanks for taking the time to help me out. Ernie Keener is currently out of stock, and won't be re-stocking until the fall. I'll call OPGI. :beer

    marc,

I noticed that your interior is pearl white. Did you repaint all the plastic pieces? If so who's paint did you use? I bought my paint from Year One and the match to the upholstry was horrible and i will need to repaint.
    Thanks, Gary

the interior of this car is white(1972)---I used SEM paint color "S uper White" right out of the can...its 99% a match...As far as pearl, Y/O has miserable color match...theirs is very green compared to the popular Legendary upholstery 1970 pearl vinyl..Y/O's version of pearl paint is a throwback to 1968 pearl, which is a different pearl than 1970....The best bet is to go to a good paint store and have them match the base pearl color, and overcoat with plain white pearl..I have done 3 pearl (1970) cars, and I always buy some white, red, green and yellow toners to adjust the base color....its not easy, but with practice, you can do a dead-on match...also, dont spray the pearl coat with a preval or low pressure spray...use a professional spray gun or have it done...otherwise you will get streaks.....As far as year one, their products are really hit or miss right now...good luck!

I have installed OPGI #259 chrome seat trim on my '68 buckets, but have had trouble getting it to stay in place. It keeps coming off at the ends.

To address this problem, I drilled a small hole through both the trim and the seat bottom and installed a small rivet. The chrome cap then covers (mostly!) the rivet.

Perhaps there is a better way to do this, especially for the 1970-72 seats that do not use the chrome caps?

Clean the area very well where it will grip first. Then buy the bigger diameter chrome piping which has a better grip and a larger mouth.
