Mine will be MPFI, Jaramie from the board is setting me up with a Megasquirt computer and sensors! Should be a real monster!!!!!!!!!!! GO TWIN TURBO 350 MOVEMENT!
Not to answer for Mark but it will still be lighter than stock, my next one will be alum I'm hoping but this is a prototype and mark is set up for the steel at this point but I may help invest in equipment needed for jumping to alum capabilities! The hard work is almost done since the next intakes will be quicker and more refined due to the Autocad and the learned experiences. Mark Takes this VERRY seriously and the results show! Hes probly not too happy that I posted the intake before it was finnished but I could not help it. Mark is changing the way people think about the Buick 350!! GO MARK!
Mark is decicated to Buicks and will build anything we want! If he had a 215 or 300 to build the intake from I'm sure he'd make one for that as well. I could ship down my 62 Alum 215 I suppose but its in the machine shop now (it will be a single turbo setup in a MGB convertable!)
Looks good. This intake would make our switch over to Super Stock much easier!!! Keep the info coming!
Damn, Sean, you are pretty hard core. Is that your MGB or a buddy's? What's happening at the machine shop? Nice thread man. Props to Mark. That's a pretty tough fabrication to take on. SO you guys went with the flat steel because you'd need different radi for a tubular setup, right? I've seen some guys build a straight pipe to a large plenum but I think the plenum volume gets way too big. Interesting...
Wow,every time I go away for a few days some good stuff comes up here.Nice looking piece of work there, looks clean. Can't wait to see the finished product.
It weighs 17lbs currently without the bottom skin and water passages, neither of which will add much weight.
are you going to do any test flowing on the intake? maybe with a ported head attached? to post improvements? also what will you be doing for accel cable mounting/detent cable mount pcv?
I am looking at getting Greg Gessler to flowtest the intake with some ported heads but the budget is tight since I have so many things on the go. If anyone has any ported heads close to Greg it would make it easier to get the flow testing done. Also looking into dyno testing and 1/4 mile testing comparing to stock and TA intakes. Anyone with ideas or connections to get this done SPEAK UP!
Its my cousins MGB, I'm letting him use the alum 215. Block is getting honed and mains allighn honed as well.
By the way, Mark has refined the design on the intake! wait till he posts the pics of the completed intake and you'll be wanting one as well. I'm also getting a tunnel ram intake built so stay tuned!!!!!!!!
doesnt look like mark will ever have time to build manifolds for the rest of up if sean keeps hoggin up his time with his projects:beer
Maybe Mark could make a version of the old Chrysler 413 cross ram intake setup: Now would that surprise some people when you popped the hood!
Daryl R was trying to make something like that for the 350, its an interesting idea because the long runners increase torque!!!
My all time favorite set up --the old 413 long rams. They were combined with the greatest gage package --the old spherical under glass set up.
Could an existing 413 long ram be modified to fit a 350? I supposed you could not have A/C. That's crazy cool:beers2:
Beautiful work on the intake! :TU: One of the crazy ideas that has rattled around in my head when I was building my last motor was fabricating a Mopar style crossram for my BBB. Good luck finding an existing one for less than a small fortune :dollar: .
