Thanks Brian.......it was my father's car since around 1970 so I rode many miles in it while growing up. It's my brother's now.

Tell your brother I hate him please haha.

Rockstar - thanks! That was the little problem. I always forget to sand down prongs on old cars right when I get them. It makes things a whoooooole lot easier.

Man, that paint is looooong gone, lol. Crows feet everywhere, and now I have it heavily stripped down and the car is in pieces in my garage. I have a paint guy lined up and hopefully that parts car coming this coming month, so if everything falls on track it will be ready for Cruisin the Coast, with either new bags or 20" wheels if either fall within budget, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up yet.

I took a scotch bright pad to the paint to dull it into a rat rod look to get it decent while I drove it and worked out some of the minor issues with it. I can't wait to see it in white as I caught one on ebay that looked near identical to mine and it was sweet with the vinyl top. I'll keep in touch and it looks like if you want to ride, you are welcome to come with and check out the other guy's parts up there if you need any while we are up there. Free shipping is always a good deal if you can catch someone heading up there. He said his hood is also a 67 though, so we'll see.:beer

What is wrong with your hood? It looks good in the picture.

What is the width of those back tires?

The side marker lights are called 'cornering lamps', and they were an option.
They turned 'on' when the headlights were operated and the turn signal switch was activated. :TU:

Another opportunity to say I miss my old '66. :ball:

I'm not sure if I still have them, but I had a pair of those front fender trim pieces used on cars without cornering lamps from my '66.
    I'll poke around.
I wanted cornering lamps on mine, and bought a pair at a junk yard, (This was around '81) thinking like most every other option the wiring would be there in the harness and it would be a plug and play deal. After installing them, I learned you needed a different turn signal switch in the steering column.

I had that headlight relay go out on the '66 I owned.
Before getting it replaced, I used a jumper wire to pull the headlights back up every morning.

My 66 still sits in the carport where we put it 10 years ago. First "old" car. Made the mistake of having friends help me. one week later just a shell on a frame. Other than that and drivetrain, the rest never went under during Katrina. wonder what I will ever do with it. It will probably never be touched...:(

Just start putting together what you have. Source out other parts from here or other places. Even if you put a different Buick engine in it to get it going, at least it's going and not just sitting somewhere collecting salt and rust. :TU:

I love the cornering lights! Rare items on the 66/67 Rivs. They once were a very good ebay item to sell too.
