Bill, You gotta rename the chocolate color one to Rootbeer! That is the coolest color! Now I am considering that color to paint my 70 GS when I get it finished. That would make a neat racecar color. The only thing is what color would you make the X stripes then?:TU: :TU: Pat
Pat, Tan or white stripes! would be neat. Be careful of the dark colors for a race car though, then tend to get pretty warm on those nice sunny racing days! RV :bglasses: PS you could call it the "Root Beer Float"
I always thought a GSX would look sweet in a Plum Crazyish kinda color. How would it look Panther Pinkuzzled:
Me too! I think Buick could have really taken the lead with some other colors than Saturn Yellow and Artic White, but hey, that was a big step back then for Buick to even do what they did with the GSX!!!!! Need to look for a picture of the Pink Lady car, I'll have to look in the box of pics somemore, found some today, but not of the car, of Robin aka Pink Lady!
Roberta, Don't you mean Apollo white? Arctic white was available in 71-71 on the X.Just ribbing you. Pat Pink would be a stretch for an X in my opinion.ou:
I think she only went in the 11's with the Pink Lady car, I asked Robin at BG what her fastest time was and I already forgot what she said, her husband, John Stevens built the car and sold it to her and her ex BF, they bought it in primer in '91 here's a picture of it looked like at Norwalk in '92 before John put the stripes and stuff on it, looks like the ex driving, first picture I found in the laurels of Buick racing. The car was later sold to KKK of Kokomo,IN and was engulfed in a garage fire, was sold as a hulk to Casey Carmody of Rockford, MI last year and he rewired it and got it running last fall, so it may return eventually, but not as the Pink Lady! Here's what John does now: And he is building a Regal for Robin to run, hopefully we will see it yet this year, if not at Norwalk next year for sure! And I'll bet it is PINK and very fast! :blast:
The Pink Lady will be resurrected under a new name! While Casey's away at flight school I'll be removing the shell from the frame within the next few weeks to begin the resto If I can sell Casey on the Mopar green we'll really rub it in their noses after beating them - kicked your tail and took your paint color too...
If anyone wants me to "paint" their car just yell out. It's pretty easy now that I've worked out how to do it (thanks Chris).
Pretty cool pics Bill!:bglasses: Can you change the black to purple on that 1970 Saturn Yellow GSX? Curious to see how that would look.
Hey Bill, can you make mine (ZZ) Silver/Grey?? Would love to see it before I get it painted:grin: Leave the red top for now, I'm trying to imagine. This should be an easy one, it aint the whole car....thanks
