I watched the show last night. Courtnet is annoyingly good looking.:af: In the clips for next week's show I saw what looks like a 65 or 66 Skylark. Sigh. I'm sure the first this Foose will do is throw a ZZ4 crate motor in it.:af: I don't think that guy even knows that old engines can be rebuilt. And I seriously doubt he'd plan far enough ahead to have a new nailhead to swap into it. I'm not looking forward to seeing this one.
Yes, I saw it too. It looked like a '66 but it was to quick to tell. Your right, Courtney is a bit annoying.
She's great when you mute the TV! I told my wife I would be afraid to see what they would do to my 69 project. They should just stick to Chevys
First thing the wife said was that they will put a SBC in it. Too bad they won't contact a Buick guy to do the motor for them. A lot of good products out there now for the Buick's, but SBC will get the nod no doubt.
Did you also notice they trashed the front disc set-up?I can live with Courtney, but them damn chevy motors are starting to get bland now.I did dig the paint scheme on this car and the bumper treatments. Pat
They probably wont even touch the motor. . They didnt in the Olds the week before.Probably just clean in up the same way they did that car. Dollar for dollar the guy with the Olds 442 got ripped off compared to the Monte Carlo.
I would consider anyone who puts a SBC in a 65/66 Skylark lazy. They just don't want to spend the time and effort to do it right. Taking the easy route. Thats just my opinion.
I think its a '67 and you're right, they'll either put a chevy in it or just leave it alone like the Olds. Too bad.
I was thinking of writing a message to remind you to watch Overhaulin next tuesday 9h pm (e.t) on TLC .. but I see that many of you allready watch the show ! Chip is very talented and even if I prefer an original to a modified car the car in the program are soooo cool ;-) I read this is gonna be a 67 ??? ..... when I saw the schedule on the TLC website I was praying to see a 68-72 .... but anyway it's a Buick !
Exactly my comment to my wife when I saw the Buick: "I'll bet they drop a SBC in it". A good friend of mine teaches body work at WyoTech in Laramie. If you remember, they did a 56 Chevy 4-door there recently, turning it into a 2-door. The politics of that project is interesting but I won't go into that - but he did tell me that the car was not nearly as nice as they led us to believe. Gee, I can't imagine why.. no way to do it really right in a week. Did you notice they didn't really do squat to the interior on the Monte - the steering wheel was a stocker (puke); not even a sport wheel. I'm getting burned out on the reality automotive shows anyway; American Chopper, American Hot Rod, Overhaulin', etc., so I've pretty much stopped watching. And Foose irritates me most; I've seen enough ghost flames on that show to last me a lifetime. Guys an artist so credit is due, but enuf already. I can just imagine if they "stole" my car and put it together with all the do-dads, paint scheme, etc. then surprised me with it. Picture a crate 502 or even a 572 in my GS.. I'd go more balistic over that than having the car stolen; I'm talking bouncing off the walls furious! Bet they wouldn't air the show. "What the ---- did you do to my car". "Where's my LAWYER?!". Guess we'll have to write to them expressing our disgust when the drop the crate ZZ4 in the Buick, eh?
chip came down to our shop before. we do his t-shirt line. anyhow, he saw my lark in the lot and was asking about it. said it would be good for the show. (it had a huge dent in the quarter) but that they just had another a-body in there. the chevelle in one of the first episodes. hes a cool guy though. he cruised the "speed bird" over and let us all gock at it. pete
Course who to say they were given the chevy motor, so it cost nothing to use and then they kept the beter buick engine for them selfs??? Who knows what they do with the parts they take off or don't use.
I think they should just do a show about Courtney  . Shes hot. I think they ruin cars. I liked the Corvette better when it was sitting in the garage at the beginnning of the show. Im not sure whos better looking, Courtney or Jennifer Lothrop from "DVD on TV" on FX. Jason
Why not let `em know what you think? Overhaulin feedback BBS Hmmm, 6000+ members... we could make a pretty serious dent.
I was thinking that was a 64/65 Buick.... it has the wrong grille for the 66/67. Cant see the front bumper close enough to tell for sure if it is a 64 or 65.
maybe the guy will jerk the motor sell it and get the nailhead and set up he would want in there anyways. the guy has to submit a wavier form before they start on the car anyways. its all an ack just like wrecseling.
It's on right now and after the first 8 minutes, it doesn't look like they're gonna do anything to the motor (only 8 minutes in though, this might change) since it looks like the guy had already had it built.
I'm not sure, they showed a quick shot of a gold colored engine halfway through, looked to be buick heads and layout but had oddball valve cover gaskets.....another shot near the end was so fast I couldn't see much...did anyone tape show so we could double check?? But you know what?? At least its a Buick, maybe the kid will stick with it and keep the interest going..... He was sure happy, and isn't that what matters anyway??? later Tim
